I am interested in Fallout 4, so what I'm most likely going to do is get that and wait till December to see if the patch is worth resubbing. If so, sub in December. I'm thankful that Persona 5 was pushed back, since FFXIV would have been rather low on the priority list.

So... what? Should they jump to stop Fallout from releasing somehow? Corporate sabotage, maybe?
They can't just magically have something done in one month that isn't going to be done until a month and a half from now. That's not how development works, unless you want really buggy, unrefined content (You really don't). They could wait later if need be... but why spurn those players who aren't interested in those games simply because another company's doing something as well?
The thing is that the people who'll stop playing XIV briefly to go play Fallout/Starcraft instead would do so anyway.
I don't get where you get the idea that people who unsub don't come back. They do. Yoshida's even fully acknowledged it - there's lots of players who only come back for one or two months out of each patch's lifespan, because in a content-centric game that's what's required to keep people's interest. And they're completely fine with it.

I'll be playing Fallout 4 and FFXIV even if the release dates are very close to one another/the same day. Even if someone has limited time it's not too difficult to alternate between multiple games.
Naw, I never said they should stop other games from releasing..but okay.
Also, no my fc isn't coming back...wanna see a pic of how long people been gone? 400+ days , cuz they took a break for another game. And I can bring them here to post or post screens of them admitting so, this is a lot of people too. But hey, it's fine, it's cool.
I never said everyone, and some people (again not all!) think not retaining subs all the time is good, alrighty then.
I guess yoshida acknowledging something makes it better.
Anyway, there have been many games I was taken away from or didn't even play because of ffxi. Sure, it isn't the same game. The whole point is I loved that game enough to where I couldn't stop playing it, no matter what other great games were out. If any game was good enough, I found a way to balance playing both at the same time.
Thank you, at least someone understands what I was trying to say.I guess yoshida acknowledging something makes it better.

This. I was completely out of touch with the game, cause I was already repeating the same content over and over. Worst part is that I didn't even know that there wouldn't be a update for another month and a half... Really makes me feel that it's just useless to try and stay in this game, cause everything I only play a few months to end up with a 6 month break.
