Nothing new. Although I have to say I prefer the JP voice actors for a few of the characters, mainly Alphinaud, Ravana, and Thordan.

Complete opposite for me. Now that I heard it in English, JP voices sound completely off. All this trailer did for me was reopen old wounds.. and reaffirms my hate for the Ascians.

Yes it can, not everyone have been playing since HW launch, myself included.

can someone explain why they show a trailer with stuff that is THREE MONTHS OLD for a recent game show? everything on that trailer has been in the game for 3 months or more by now. wth SE? this trailer makes zero sense except maybe for trying to attract new players only?

That's exactly the reason, there's going to be many people who aren't familiar with FFXIV at TGS. The VR demo and this are both used to promote the game.
