    Mine was in Alex Normal during its first few days of its release. DF A1, it was at Faust. While I am MT and adds start appearing, the OT decides to voke Faust off me. I don't fight for hate, so now I am on add duty. Tried as best as I could to grab hate on adds, and effectively lose one somehow, but managed to get it back and get things under control.

    After the fight, people wondered why adds ran wild, and instead of going after the OT that had been OTing since the pull, a BLM comes at me and even pointing out the fact I did indeed lose a add as well. OT said absolutely nothing. Didn't say a thing afterwards besides what Oppressor the OT wanted. Nice thing was though, I got a commendation at the end, so at least someone noticed. xD

    Doing neverreap for the first time at il145 and getting called a noob because I had trouble keeping up with dps that were 40 ilvl higher. That was a pretty shitty tanking moment for me.

    I'm a healer, but I understand. I was fresh ilv145 and the tank pulled both giraffes and the water pillars mobs together, and didn't care dodging at all. I saw my cooldowns going off, Tetra going off, Benediction going off, Swiftcast going off and he still died. ;-;

    First time tanking T4. I let the group know. Everyone seemed fine. I managed to get rot and the healer stopped healing me when I picked up the dread. Other healer was yelling at him to heal. His response "I don't heal tanks with rot, only baddie tanks get rot."

    Or you know, first time tanks...

    Because tanks are supposed to know every fight inside and out and execute them perfectly, even if it's their first time.

    The attitude towards tanks is very strange. At higher levels, you're expected to know everything and execute everything perfectly regardless of whether you're new or not. At lower levels, nobody lets you tank at all. You can mark enemies or ask nicely, but people just pull and attack whatever they want to attack. New players don't think it matters, and old players think their ilvl 150 gear is so awesome, even when level-synched to 23, that you might as well not be there. They're the tank now.

    Leveling a new tank now and, so far, that's happened to me in every. Single. Dungeon.

    And no, damn it, it's not my fault that Caduceus killed me. I wasn't supposed to be tanking both snakes in the first place. It was my first time! The other tank was supposed to stay alive with me! -cries-

    Been doing well for the most part. Generally my worst experience has been a run through Haukke story mode, with an insane Lalafell black mage who would not stop running ahead, aggro-ing everything, and dying.

    He didn't blame me; apparently it was part of his RP schtick. But it sure made the run slower than it needed to be. And no, we didn't kick - we were all so new I don't think any of us knew *how* to kick a party member, back then

    This so much. But not just in lower level dungeons. In fact, I would say it's even harder the second you reach level cap and all of a sudden your gear is garbage compared to everyone who's been farming tomes for a while, even if you pick up a fresh few pieces of something better once you hit max level.Hitting level 50 on my WAR on patch 2.2 was beyond awful, despite getting the axe of crags nearly right off the bat my first try on Titan HM. If I tried REALLY hard, like spamming 4-5 overpowered in defiance and spamming the enmity combo on each and every mob, I can hold agro fairly OK.However, if there was a BLM in my group, I completely abandoned all hope of holding agro unless they felt pity on me and did everything they can to not gain hate. To even have a couple of pieces of decent gear to not have this happen as badly, you have to expose yourself to these instances countless times, or go out of your way to get some top end crafted stuff (perhaps like paying ridiculous amounts of gill)

    At least with low level dungeons you're fine once the dungeon you ran becomes old and outdated because your ques are so fast and your past 3 levels higher than it by now, and you get a weapon that makes the roulette cake since you'll most likely to be doing something like Tam-Tara anyways.

    I'm glad I've never actually had anybody be rude to me though back when I was a fresh 50 tank. The worst I got was a healer going ahead of me and pulling to much but he never once said anything once the entire group wiped because of that, he just let me do my thing from then on out. I'm sure there were a few people cursing behind their screens but it's not really my fault, the entire reason I was running those dungeons was to NOT let that happen anyways

    Was running Haukke Manor yesterday.On last boss both dps and healer refused to put out lamp.So i had to run around room while tanking and putting out all lamps.I assume the 3 other players were alts and decided it's ok to just ignore lamps but if not then they were teaching new players it's ok to ignore mechanics which puts more pressure on tank.
    I've stated before about people new to tanking.If you gonna tank a dungeon it's fine not knowing the mechanics but if you're party is failing because of this atleast ask party members or as some tanks do, stop before boss and do a quick google on boss mechanics.
    Trial and error is fine but don't rage quit due to not knowing mechanics and blame party in process.I know how annoying it can be to be outgeared on tank.When i go as dps on low levels i will hold back my dps a bit because being synced down still makes me way op to new tanks.They need to be given a fair chance.
