How rare are hero cards?

When I first started, I saw Cloud on sale for 1mil coins, so I assumed they would all be a horrendous grind to get. Lightning and Firion are similar, asking you to go against an NPC with impossible rules for a tiny chance at them. But then I see Squall is as simple as beating each NPC once (which takes a similar amount of time as grinding for a single card, really), and Shantotto (as easy as participating in a tournament or two).
Now, these seem like wildly different difficulties in hunting. Are some cards simply really easy to get, while some really difficult? Or are they easier to get than they look?

If you're getting Lightning and Firion by dueling Tataru good luck, I haven't seen either after 600+ wins. Platinum cards obtainable through trials and WoD aren't hard to get unless you're really unlucky, and the rest are either from gold/platinum packs or placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in tournaments, so unless you manage to beat all the win boosters on top of the rankings you'll have to rely on luck with those packs.

rng is rng got warrior of light in my first gold pack others got it after 1m mgp spent just hope rngesus is on ur side xD dont know about lightning since I got it after few tries (less than 20) there is no easy/hard cards only rng

fixed that for you. nothing hard about RNG. its RNG. aka dumb luck. same for all tourney cards. not hard to get if you abuse the system behind tourneys.

even with "tournament cheating" these cards are incredible hard to get, except you can log in 1 second after reset and have a person to wintrade with (even then there are already other people who will most likely outscore you anyway)

zidane, cloud and wol require you to farm masses of mgp, which isnt done in some days

and rng = medium difficulty

How is the Onion Knight medium difficulty? Do competent groups still run World of Darkness, or does it drop somewhere else as well?

World of Darkness is still being run. The groups aren't necessarily competent, but were they ever? Took me about 8 runs with ~30 minute queue each time. Finally got it on a run that took about 70 minutes (and that's after the long queue). So, medium drop rate, overall pretty hard.

I remember my first Onion Knight card dropped after more than 50 runs of WoD. I can't even imagine it today. >.<

Twenty hours of easy work is still twenty hours of work. I think we all recognize that nothing in triple triad is a real challenge, and everything requires luck. But by that same logic, I could say that learning the piano isn't hard. All it requires is a thousand hours of playing.

I've been eyeing Terra. She seems quick to get in an unsynced party. But I can't seem to gather one together. Would it take long to get via duty finder?
