Op you mentioned the word "dead"...
Are you a Dragoon by any chance?
Thank you whoever used my RaF code & if you need anything PM me here or /tell in-game.
Nope, that's me saying there is less to do. I even prefer the new game mode to the old ones, but many others miss secure and slaughter.
I do agree with that. Not just in this game, but really as the MMO model in general. You do fetch quests. Kill quests. You run, get the stuff, run back, turn in. You get better gear. You level up, get better gear, get more abilities. You see more places, new zones, new dungeons. But really, from killing rats outside Qeynos, to killing 4 new models of dinosaurs for a moogle in FFXIV, it is all just a big reskin of each other.
So I agree with the reskin, and I agree that there is nothing NEW to do, that we have not seen before.
I also hate what seems to be the new copy-paste, is that when a game introduces flying (FFXIV) or when a game re-introduces it (WoW WoD) they make the terrain such a terrible pain in the ass to get around at times. Invisible walls where you can't jump down a cliff, everything.
My apologies then!

MANTASTIC: I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.

Mykll: Its all because the original gameplay its just too easy and even if you play normally you beat it to quick rushing through it or not. Thats the part i dislike. I love that there is hardcore content like alex savage but thats the only hardcore content. Say what you want about FFXI but atleast when they recycle old content became playable and gears from old content could get upgraded.
It's almost turned into another fb game for me, cap eso , log off.
There needs to be more to do for the sub fee, like alot more.
Most people I know and I are just logging in to get Esos and logging off. There's not a whole lot to do right now.
See you again in a few patches where this thread will pop up again!
So with everyone saying there is nothing to do at 60.... Surely you had the exact same feeling at 50. Why would you think this game, or ANY MMO, at max level, once all content has been played, would be any different?
Make content a little easier, people get through it too fast. Make it too difficult (Atmas anyone?) people say it is way too much of a grind. And while I agree that some gear should be able to still be upgraded, instead of being replaced 2 dungeons in, how would you upgrade it? You'd still be running the exact same things that are already in game. Create specific Fates? Well that is just re-skinned Fates, and people would complain about Fate timers. Create dungeon drops? People would complain about having to re-do dungeons. Create specific tokens for certain activities? People will say they do that one activity and then log off. Recycle old content? People will complain about having to do that same old content, or that it is just new re-skinned.
I honestly do not see how any MMO developer can win. I do think that MMO gameplay in general is too easy. But they learned that from old MMOs. People eventually did not want the long grinds. They wanted things easier. People didn't want to be stuck shouting in a city or zone for a party. They wanted their dungeon finders, and eventually made to be cross server. And today's MMOs are what we are stuck with. Unless a developer wanted to create something for an incredibly niche group of people and hope it is financially viable.
