Ah, well bump anyways. The base just looks really odd, I wouldn't mind if it was a little longer, but I'm much prefer for at least a leopard gecko excuse tail that the bizarre looking one we've got right now.

Has anyone mention the other races getting the same service like Au Ra? I really want a face from the Sea Wolves clan to be available on the Hellsguard clan. Why make a face exclusive to one clan when it can work for both?![]()
We talked about what other options the other races could have is Au Ra get an extra option as a whole. That face in particular though, I've only seen it mentioned in passing.
Sadly none of the races are very even. Some races have way more options than others such as Roegadyn and Au Ra (which have very limited options for things like jaw/nose shape etc). It would be nice if they started adding face features that other races are lacking rather than adding hairstyles in every patch.
I take that "core systems" thing they mentioned in the last live letter with a grain of salt since core systems doesn't stop them from adding hairstyles in every number update.

Seriously, I'd kill for a few faces to add a bit of variety to the various races.. Like I kinda cute youthful Roegadyn face and a more masculine, tough, scaly face for Auri girls. There's no reason to not have more faces when Midlander dudes have 6 and Midlander girls have 5.Sadly none of the races are very even some races have way more options than others while while Roegadyn and Au Ra have very limited options. Oh boy, I leave for 3 days and this thread falls back into the double digits. D:
Yeah, it's really odd how each face of the male miqo'te has completely different options from each other:
1 face is pretty standard with toggleable scars and facial hair; face # 2 you can toggle the thickness of the eyebrows AND have toggleable eyeshadow like most females but at the cost of facial hair and less scars. Other face you can toggle eyebrows on/off.
When combined, Miqo'te males arguably has the most facial options of all race/genders but such options are limited to which face you choose
The "core" issues is worrying since it almost implies that it's not a PS3 limitation
With every new minion, we are one code closer to watching Eorzea explode into billions of pixels before our very eyes.
And then, only then, when we are separated into tiny fragments, will the horns be separated from the faces...
...
And Highlanders still won't be able to find their eyebrows.
I support this 100%. Even taking the PS3 into consideration, adding customization options to the game, especially the PC version for characters created on a PC only account, can only be a good thing and should never be discounted. I can understand the limitations they feel they need to place on the game because of the PS3 subscribers, but at this stage in the game, limiting the games functionality because of a now VERY outdated console will hurt this game's longevity.
What in the world are you talking about? The limitation they addressed had to do with their servers and the amount of data they can transfer between servers and clients before the whole system slows down too much. They have to transmit everyone's character design to everybody else within viewable range, and they can't keep up with that (along with everything else they also have to transmit) if the data for designing each of those characters grows too big. They computed the maximum amount of data they can use per character before the systems at their end start lagging to much. That has nothing to do with the PS3. Yeah, sure, everyone likes to joke about how poor PS3 is, but pretending everything is about that is a joke that stopped being funny a long time ago.I support this 100%. The PS3 does have some memory limitations that need to be taken into account. So do a lot of PCs, especially some of the lower end ones. But even if they could get their servers upgraded to the point of handling the data transfer, and they decided memory was the next bottleneck, character design isn't like graphics display which can be set to lower or higher settings according to how good your computer is. Anyone's character has to be shown to everyone else. Do you figure that people on higher end PCs will simply be invisible to those playing on lower end machines because only some players will have their display settings tuned to be able to show the horns they chose?
