    Just to add fuel to this fire - sorry about that! - three friends and I decided last night to try the Fractual Continuum with an unusual set up. I went SCH - not so unusual because I always do! - but the others were DRK, DRK, and WAR. We cleared faster than we do with many PuG groups and nearly as fast as when the DRKs go NIN and MCH. Not to mention it was hilarious fun. Killed all three bosses without needing a DPS limit break with no trouble at all. Either we must get some pretty bad deeps in our PuGs or ....

    I can see what you're saying, for sure. I think it's actually a byproduct of another problem: The game doesn't offer customization in the classes. You're built one way, and other than some stat-changing with jewelry, there's no real way to change the way your class plays. The trouble is, people still need to be able to do things like finish story instances or do leves. So if they cut more DPS out of the tanks and the healers, either they'd have to add in way more customization or it would become mandatory to level a DPS class to continue the game. I dunno that those are any better really.

    More than likely the Warrior carried your party.Especially if he wasn't MT he probably saved your party from wipe due to having the highest burst damage in game.not to mention as scholar you probably stayed in dps stance and let fairy heal the MT.

    more dps on tank = more fun and low dps = to boring?

    sorry dear but is a mistake if you think that, whe are humans and whe have millions of forms to see the world, say that is no real.

    for me im vit DRK and i use mi str WAR in mi raid when i need, i play both tanks and i dont really care if mi WAR can hit 10k whit FC or mi DRK survive in the most desesperate rain of hits for very little on any fight.

    the fun when you play a job comes from the play style not the number, the ppl dont come to try play tanks for they can hit high dps, they come to play the new DRK because is a cool class.

    more dps is = to utility in 3.0? yeah all high end conten are make for dps check, dps = fun? not for all ppl.
    many persons play and enjoy they jobs no matter how dps doing, if they dealthigh dps with a tank, nice for hem 1 min less in fight.

    Honestly at this point why not make each class have 2 options like scholar and summoner. Give every job a secondary function. I don't like tanks having to worry about dps because they are not dps. In a perfect world tanks should have enmity moves rather that higher dps moves as well as debuffs and buffs with stuns being exclusive to tanks to make them unique in their role. Dps should be using highest dmg fastest moving combo's with super low cooldowns being their uniqueness. Healer gotta heal and mitigate dmg. Imagine convalescence being a healer buff that you could put on a party member of your choice. O.O

    If you want tanks DPS to go down you should start by making tank stats actually have a purpose. Right now we can stack as much parry as we want which is the only tank stat we get and guess what, it does absolutely nothing cause ya know magic damage tank busters now. The only reason there is magic tank buster's now is to give DRK a purpose. SE screwed up big time on tanks by putting DRK in. They knew it had crappy physical mitigation so the only way to make it work was to change tank buster's. Now DRK is the prefered MT cause it always has a 30% cd up for buster's. Tanks get gear upgrades and the entire right side is nothing but health. That's it gives no DPS upgrades or agro generation. It's nothing but hp which tanks don't need atm due to other factors. So the only option tanks have costs million's of gil to do which is penta melded acc's. So next time anyone wants to talk shit about tank dps think of the money they spent to achieve that simply because a developer is to incompetent to make tank stats worth a crap.

    parry was always useless for tankbusters. you can't staying there and just pray for a parry. you will need a defense cd to survive.
