It's not group content, it's that housing is so restricted you can't form a new group. It'd be like only the first few people who beat Alexander can go into alexander, so you gotta hitch a ride on one of those guys' groups if you wanna see it.

Locking stuff behind housing when housing is straight busted is a recipe for discontent.

Free companies are guilds with in game incentives. A guild can have 2-3-4 or 200 members still being a community. A company house is about having conveniences in one place and sharing. FC airships are large community content currently, so not meant to be accessed by everyone. Chocobos and gardening is not large group based content so it should not be the only way to access those features.

Now if some FC content was introduced for group content for chocobos like say mounted chocobo raids, then that should be easier for FC with big communities/pre made parties to get access to. But I would also have a duty finder in place for people who don't want to enter or can't enter in big pre made groups due to various reasons. There could be an option for smaller guilds to craft personal airships for exploration content if there was content that existed not requiring large groups.

In my opinion, most content should not be blazing hard or difficult to get access to when big groups are required or else the game will cater to hardcore minority that exist in mmorpgs. But even the hardcore should get their occasional bang with things like Alex savage.

As others have said. There is an option to do airship explorations without big FC. So that point is moot.

You can also access Airship Exploration Voyages from Ishgard Airhship yard if your FC doesn't have a house/You don't have an FC.

The point of my post is that content needs to be accessible to everyone and not limited by poor planning.

It seems more like the point of your post is that you stuck your neck out too far without reading the entirety of the information and are now backpedaling to say that you were talking about past content instead of what you quoted.

My FC has 16 people in it, maybe half of which are actually active on a daily basis. It is not a large FC by any means. We managed to save up enough money and get a medium house (great plot too :3), and currently have 2 airships running. Yes, I understand housing is an issue on larger servers (and many of the medium to small ones at this point) but they've acknowledged that and have stated they're working on it. What more do you really want?

I can't wait to see all the infighting this new system will cause. Watch it be the only way gear can be upgraded and as it is all open world, first come first serve content the whining and complaining on the shout channels is going to be glorious. Well, the FC I'm in is one that I personally made. I don't think I should be expected to abandon that FC to join another only to be subjugated by that FC leader feeding himself and his cronies off the backs of the membership.

Then don't join a FC like that.

Our FC was made from a merger of two smaller FCs. The current leader had been betrayed by his previous FC leaders and really didn't want to quit his own FC either, but at the time he only had five members. We trusted him (I was friends with him on the ZAM forums) so we let him keep his FC and joined ours with his. Our FC leader became an officer, as did I, and later on several other of our FC members - while his group abandoned him. No matter, we've slowly recruited RL friends to expand our numbers and now we have twenty or so very active members and another 30-ish part timers.

I'd suggest making threads on your server's forums or shouting in Idyllshire looking for any other small FCs interested in merging. You may be pleasantly surprised.
