^ I laughed hard while reading that xD
Very inspiring.
Actually, most people die many times throughout the grind.
But hey, a little death never stopped anyone. You get back up on your chocobo and shrug it off, not because you want to, because you have to... For as the great scriptures say: 'thar be experience points to be had in them thar hills, and you gonna get you some.'
So we continue always moving forward.. Slaying Efts... Slaying Goblins... Slaying squirrely thingies... Slaying whatever the hell those hippo-gryphon-dog things count as. Etc.
For the present is merely the ever moving shadow that divides yesterday from tomorrow. And in that shadow, lies hope. Hope that we will gain that next level before we next set down our pads. Hope that this tree will yield that mat you really need, even though that website says your much-needed item isn't in that nodes treasure pool. Hope that the item that you are synthing will at long last +3. And so, we move ever forward through the shadow, guided by our hope.
You see, the meaning of lifes are like whales, swimming around in a pod, eating shrimps and krill and those other little things, you know the ones. Then some someone feeds you an apple pie. And you're like, 'holy **** this is amazing', then you find out that there's a factory that makes apple pies?! So all the whales line up outside the factory eating apple pies.
That's the simplest way I can explain it.
:P

The meaning of life?
Entropy.
We build things just so we can destroy them later
what can we build?
Or is that the point of FFXIV; it's sparing us the formality?
and do what with it? theres nothing to really challenge you yet and stats are broken so good gear doesn't make a huge difference in most cases. If they fixed stats and made epic raids like dynamis with difficult versions (ex. dynamis-xarcabard) then you have an incentive to power up your char, try diff combos, and get good weapons. But there hasn't been -any- mention of a concept like that for this game. It -SOUNDS- like in the next half year we will just get more short repetitive hour-ish raids like we have now.
Mew!
I assume that's part of the whole stat reworking thing there doing for 1.20 is about.and do what with it? theres nothing to really challenge you yet and stats are broken so good gear doesn't make a huge difference in most cases. lets use some logic.
To have an epic raid you need a stable balanced stat + job system.
Stat and job system is being released in 1.20
1.19 is coming out end of sept
average 2 months between patches
so we can guess 1.20 will be end of nov beginning of december.
Game usually beta test for a 2-6 weeks to balance out stats. Its taken SE nearly a year.
So you can assume there will be 2-4 months of tweaking before they get a set battle + stats system
devleoping raids apparently takes 2-3 months for se (remember the 1 month delay just to test and battle the current 2 raids)
So February would be the earliest we see anything that compares to a dynamis raid most likely. More likely next april or may though.
I mean im sure it will come eventually just right now its not there and probably wont be any time in the near future.
Mew!
I didn't say anything about the near future. Yeah, point stabilization is going to take a few months, but it's going to happen. And after it does it won't magically disappear. It's the final adjustment for the materia, job and leveling system to the point where they become valid features. And it's not like raids are going to be the end all be all of content.
