Housing abandoned plots, this is needed SE!!! Thank you!

This is really just applying a bandaid to a an otherwise bigger problem. Not everyone will get houses even if you log in as soon as servers go back up. Though I guess it's better than nothing. Something does need to be done about abandoned houses/plots though.

Since they're doing away with the 3 dungeons per patch let's hope they'll "reallocate" their resources to houses. It's something that's been asked about since launch

There are plenty of games that revoke housing due to inactivity. I think it's fair enough. no point in keeping
it if you aren't going to play?? Im sure the timing will be reasonable though and not just get rid of everyone
all at once.

Their plan is a (terrible) quick fix, not a solution to a problem, all it's going to do is piss off people who don't sub all the time, effectively punishing players who put a lot of time into the game to earn gil to purchase that house.

Instancing is a good solution.

If you quit a year ago and haven't paid your subscription since, you haven't been paying your rent. Why shouldn't you be evicted so someone else can have a chance?

I honestly think SE may have implemented this manually and not said anything yet, since housing plots are mysteriously opening up on Lamia with no explanation. Like if a FC has no members remaining, someone is going and deleting the house.

If it was about keeping subs, then why let us BUY houses. IRL if I buy a house I can do what I want with it. If I rent a house then I have to keep paying rent to even just live there. They never rented us houses, they let us BUY them outright. SE got it wrong by not adding enough housing, and those of us that have housing did nothing wrong by buying it, even if we choose to not "live" there for six months.

If they make it every 3 ~ 6 months then there'll be people simply resubbing and logging in to just to keep their house. That's money for SE.

We pay taxes and monthly bill fees which we don't in game. Should SE implement those monthly fees too?

I think a good solution would be a "maintenance" system, whereby if you don't pay your maintenance your house falls apart and you lose it, you could allow a maximum maintenance of say 4 months to be paid upfront and it would email you to notify you that your upkeep must be paid or lose your plot, kind of like a ground rent

Just give the masses their instanced housing with a yard and everything. I'm so tired of this argument. As soon as you all get a house in the wards you're going to flop sides. I know you're going to say you won't, then you'll drop 20mil on a house and realize you're never getting it back.
