It's the mysterious UFO that people have spotted flying in all of the Heavensward regions. It looks like an Allagan space ship. Beyond that we don't know what it is or why we're going there but YoshiP said that UFO would be the new 24-man in the last Q&A.

Technically, he didn't. At the time, it was our best guess, but going off what he's said in more recent interviews, I believe he was actually referring to the addition of new FC airship content in 3.1 as our clue to the new 24 man raid.

3.1, where we discover that the Bismark legend was based off one of these UFOs and Ravana was based off a Phantom Ray that the Gnath no doubt found in their digging... I think I'd quite enjoy it if, before getting back to dealing with Nidhogg, we took a little respite to go back and uncover the truth behind all the Primals we've faced, now that Hraesvelgr and Tiamat have spelled out what was obvious to everyone (except the Scions and the Warrior of Light...).

I hope the actual content in 3.1 will be impressive, because this rehash of 2.0 certainly stopped entertaining me fast, but at least story has hooked me. Airship stuff sounds exciting, but I'll keep my expectations low, 99% of 3.1 is me eagerly anticipating being wrong.
