Really tired of the inventory excuses.

It's strange to me to see complaints about inventory space in FFXIV when pretty much every other MMO is worse about it. What the heck are people doing to use up all this space?

Not really. Wild Star does a lot better at its inventory system. Even WoW handles better. The inventory system must meet the needs of the player, and in FFXIV:ARR we have vanity items, crafting and gathering supplies, various consumables, and some extraneous currency that shouldn't be taking up inventory space at all. Running multiple jobs with a vanity system greatly increases the need for inventory space, along with the high requirements for crafters. I had to abandon my original main simply because running almost every job in the game made the inventory system unmanageable.

I think SE's statement about their fans being important to them is officially duplicitous at this point. They have consistently ignored all forum feedback from release and are just implementing the standard slew of MMORPG F2P money grabbing stuff we see everywhere else.

Not to mention, we still don't have a loot filter even. I get useless junk drops so often that I have to dedicate inventory slots to them because if I delete them, they'll just be right back soon. Bone chips come to mind.

My inventory is always troubled with space problems and all four of my retainers are packed to the brim. I know it's my fault for hoarding but please toss me a bone here SE!

But why the heck would I ever do that, meh.

I mean, if you're trying to maintain a presence in every single crafting class at once, then sure...you'll have issues. Every game is like that, try being an auction house trade baron type in WoW and you'll have to jump through a million hoops to maintain inventory space, even using dummy guilds and such.

Or you can play GW2 and just shake your head at the starter bank/bag space. ><

I have all DoH and DoL at 60... I could survive fine with 2 retainers.
I have more retainers now because I still have tons of animal skin, animal hide, leather, hard leather, etc. left that I don't feel like selling off.
350 inventory slots between two retainers is really more than I need if I would start cleaning up my inventories. That's not counting inventory or armoury chest.

If you want to be a competitive crafter then you need to have all DoL/DoH to 60. You just can't compete with someone on the MB who can get all of their mats for free.

Um, no. No it isn't your fault. Items magically fall into your inventory as you do stuff. Hording is an active choice to pick up an item and throw it in your inventory space. Players do not make a choice whether they pick up a bone chip or not. The bone chip just chooses to plop in a comfy spot in your inventory whether you like it or not.

Opportunity cost is rule #1 to learn when looking to make currency in a market.

I'll rephrase it because the point went completely over your head and now you're trying to be philosophical in some desperate attempt to maintain credibility. You can't price compete with someone effectively when their margins are much more flexible than yours.

SE just give people a free retainer if they've purchased heavensward. It may not be a permanent solution but at least it will help.
