The event is baseline considering how all seasonal events have been. I don't really see the need for complaint, unless you were complaining about every single one in the past too.

Just last night we attempted a perfectly synchronized /bombdance line.

Shame that people who missed the event last year and aren't shelling out on the cash shop can't join in!

Not to mention that by removing that particular quest and placing the rewards in the cash shop, the already incredibly short event was made even shorter.

Be careful what you wish for folks, you just might get it.

I LOVE the concept of the event. But the execution was poor. Being able to complete the event in 10 minutes by crafting or buying 30 Battered Fish was pretty lol worthy imo. I was looking forward to the mini games that rewarded fireworks and tokens to buy stuff with.

I was glad that we saw the original bikini's and yukata's on sale from 1.0 again though.

I miss the days of XI's summerfest where we had goldfish to fish up and little puzzles to solve.

Need shooting game booths and gold fish scooping they could have made a gold fish bowel as a prize for turn ins.

Only thing I disliked about it was the whole having to accept the quest over and over to trade fish for tickets. I don't see why once the first quest was finished we couldn't have just traded the fish without the quest.

Well assuming you're specifically referring to the CUL turn in when spamming the turn in, at least the workaround exists for it. Place the fish in the top left (first slot) of whatever inventory section your confirmation would go to and spam the hell out of the Num-0 key (or whichever key it's bound to, same for controller). It's the same little QoL advice that people went by for using the fertilizer for gardening. Side note: you can default which 25-slot "bag" section of your inventory it defaults to by simply clicking the bag you want.

Don't forget the music change for the event. I could spend a long time in Rabao doing the Goldfish thing and actually feel like I was taking part in some festive event thanks to that.

My character is 60 anyways so didn't pay attention to the level requirement but now that I look at it why does person have to be level 30 to get tokens to get a vanity swimsuit?

The end of the quest line was weird.

It was basically:
"Ugh I am mad you took my stuff."
"Eeeeeyep. We took your stuff, sucks for you, we use it better. Now stop doing bad things!"
"Hm. Ok. I will come work for you now! <3 <3 <3"
"Yay the faire is saved!!!"
