If you go to roulette, you're signing up to help people in a random dungeon. If you don't want to do that, don't use the roulette. Punishment should be severe.

I don't want to help people. I want EXP and tomes.
Yet...you're a special snowflake who believes they are entitled to other peoples playtime. Who needs the reality check here? You are mad at other players not giving you their time. If they make a decision with their own playtime it has nothing to do with you since I am pretty sure you don't pay everyone's subs.
There is already a penalty. What you suggest won't help either. If the person doesn't want to do that particular dungeon for whatever reason they will just AFK till you boot them since they can't even choose to leave on their own. They also won't care about 60 minute penalty. If they wanna leave they'll still leave.
Be happy that they ate the penalty for you so you can get out of those awful dungeons lol. Consider the fact that even with a DPS queue time you'll be back in another dungeon before they can even re-queue.
That said, I've noticed it's more common to see DPS drop than tanks... healer drops are pretty common on AV, and I don't blame them at all. That place is probably the absolute least fun thing in this game for a healer.
Steps of Faith does need some attention though. They need to either nerf it again or apply some kind of permanent bonus to it.
If I could transfer EXP gained on my PLD to my MCH or DRG or whatever job I was leveling, I'd more than happily tank DD and AV myself.
I like this.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Clearly they have the time for the dungeon or trial because they hopped in the queue for it. I don't think it's being entitled to want people to actually do the content, especially when quits / forced disconnects often lead to a total group disband. Rather, I think it's entitled to think your time is worth more than 3-7 other people's time, and that's before you get into the matter of it not even being an issue of not having time but rather the person just didn't like the selection in a roulette that's very transparent about what content it contains.Yet...you're a special snowflake who believes they are entitled to other peoples playtime. This attitude is exactly the problem with MMOs and the world in general today. The world has become a very selfish place, especially in the age of anonymity on the Internet. Everyone accuses each other of being selfish and they forget to take a good, long look at themselves. Teamwork means nothing.
A couple problems with Aurum Vale. One it is annoying, two dps do a lot of stupid stuff in there, and three maybe they lag a little which makes Coincounter impossible. Dzmeal again probably with dps wanting an xp farm group. Even with mediocre dps they take less then 40 mins and if its good less then 30 which is the penalty.
I stick it out in Aurum Vale but anyone whines or does some dumb shit they are on their own. I am not sure about steps. But someone said that you don't even need to use the cannons and you can finish it. If that is true it should be fairly fast.
It's fine as it is, if you like holding people hostage perhaps you should get into bondage.
What? I've beaten it twice now where we completely missed all of the Dragonkillers. It's so faceroll easy now--another nerf isn't needed.
Back to the topic at hand: there's already a 30 minute penalty in place. As someone said, it doesn't matter what the penalty is, because if someone wants to leave, they'll surely leave... or just not que in the first place.
