A63. We’re currently working to solve the inconvenience in the extended wards, so we believe it’ll be after this. This is because we think we first need to create a transfer system for players who wish to move to an Ishgard area.

I realize this is kinda old news by now but really? THIS is the problem they see with housing? How about people who own houses but their accounts have been dormant and inactive for 6 months or greater? Can we get those plots released? How about adding more wards too? I would really like to partake in the new systems coming out (and the ones we already have that I cant access), pretty please SE?

JPGames.de: Several servers have an overpopulation problem. Would you consider letting people change the server for free from a high-traffic to a low-traffic server?

NY: If you move people from the busy server to some empty server, then we have to have some reward, otherwise they won’t do it, because people want to go to the busy servers. There are so many people there, it is more easy to team up with other players. In the team we think about support for moving a complete Free Company, so we are already aware of the situation and think about something, but it will take time.

Not exactly a complete solution but If we could transfer our whole FC, Gill and all, I know we would all chip in for this! This isnt going to fix all the issues but as long as it doesnt come with a $100+ price tag, it will be a good start, especially with the upcoming EU Data Center!

MMORPG.de: A lot of players complain about the housing situation. They want to buy a house, but it is impossible to find free plots on some worlds. Are there any plans to improve the situation?

NY: Yes, we are working on it, and there are three phases. The first step is working on abandoned houses, so there’s no owner, or player there actually. The second step is to make it available to players that they can move house. There is no system in game yet that can help you to change the house, so we want to help and support this in the game. With these two steps we will be able to have some empty plots. Then we want to see if we have to open up an Ishgard plot or add more plot to the existing areas. That is the third step. We want to be careful here and judge the situation first. We are working on step 1 and 2 already. There will be some updates, probably in patches 3.1 to 3.15, around this time.

This is the most promising thing I have read regarding houses! Hopefully we can see some more people in houses by Patch 3.1/3.2. I also like the plot transfer system, this allows for upgrading and that is a great thing! When they talk about either opening up Ishgard or adding more wards to existing areas, I strongly think they need to do both!

I know there are lots of people like me out there that really want to get into the housing part of this Theme-park. While its not the fix many of us were hoping for (Instance Personal Houses) it is at least a start.



Housing Transfers:
Makes lots of sense. If done right its like upgrading your plot. Hopefully its one of those "Pay the difference" kind of upgrades instead of trying to sell and recoup your costs then hope that plot is still open and you have enough, it can be a quick upgrade. Nice for those smaller FC's who want a mansion but are slower to accrue gil so they buy a small for a temporary homestead.

Reclaiming Abandoned Houses:
I seriously thought this was already in place until earlier this year. Yes, it sucks to take a break then come back to no house but there are people who are still playing that would love to use it in the mean time. I don't mind the idea of a maintenance fee or something to maintain the plot. Regardless, there needs to be something in place that will default the property (especially personal houses) back to "the bank" so there is at least a chance of some of the rest of us getting a home. At some point we have to decide that they may not be coming back and if they do, they have to accept that their house got repossessed. Its how RL works right?

Open Ishgard OR add more areas to existing plots:
They need to do both. If they are going to insist on personal homes being linked to this communal, limited environment then there needs to be at least one plot per person for a minimum of 70% of your servers population. They also need to limit each FC to a single house and each player to a single personal home. If they are making more and more content linked directly to housing (Airships, Gardening, Choco colouring, etc) then they need to make it attainable. First-come-first-served is a terrible format for anything in a MMO (Sorry, only enough Alex Savage rewards for the first 600 people to clear it per server... period)

Reclaiming old housing shouldn't be that controversial. Many games have done this and it is usually if not always a good idea. It is not hard to log in once every three or so months, (nearly) nobody has a schedule that is -that- tight. It takes a few minutes to log in, and log back out.

As for those who deactivate their account during that time, there is no way of even knowing if said players are even coming back, why should that plot remain in permanent ownership? Especially when Square Enix continues to tote this limited memory and server space excuse for a number of features, it doesn't make sense at all. :l

I gave up hopes of owning a house ages ago. It MAY happen one day, but I don't see it happening in the forseeable future.
Plenty of other stuff to play around with for now.

Lol, ya. I saw someone selling a small plot on Balmung in party finder. The regular rate is between 4mil and 8mil when buying from the server. I offered 2 mil just to see what he would say. Basically told me to F off cause he was looking for 30mil as a STARTING price. For a small plot?!? You can keep your house for that. Saddest part, I bet it sold that night...
