What do you say to get your friends to play?

I would feel embarassed recommending this game to anyone I know as it would only make me look bad... Maybe after a few more patches?

Right now the game is good enough to play it's not release but it's around Open beta right now the way things are. When they done with the job system patch i think this game is good enough for release at least good enough for 2010 release lol now they have to do x2 the amount of stuff to make a new release for ps3.

I wouldn't recommend it in the first place, my college buds used to watch me play since launch, but ever since then, they won't touch it because of it's rep. So much for first impressions.

lol that wrong with people now at days they only care about first impressions. It does not even matter if SE got that right people would just go back to there MMO within a few month of gameplay. I guess SE only care about the small % that would stay lol i guess that why there making it more causal then wow.

I always advise this is a game in development still, I come forward and say straight theres nothing that keeps me playing non stop or eager to log back in asap. I always advise to wait until SE decides to charge, until then the game will not be ready.

I told two friends to try the game (after 1.18), they both quitted in first two days. Well I couldnt hold them in game if they dislike the game. So for now I have one more friend in a sleeve, I told him to wait however and I didnt recommend him the game yet. Both previous guys found battle and UI slow and boring, so I dont know... >_< how that will improve in the future.

The battle would never become fast and if it does that when i quit this is my last MMO that i going to play. Before everything become like wow speed or faster. Speed does not make a MMO fun i enjoy FFXI for hours without issue it how fun the battle is. you have more time to look around and see the battle in ffxi less in ffxiv but at least it no where near like wow when you doing raids and such.

I appreciate your efforts Zenaku, but not really the point of the thread to try and defend what others might not like ^^;

I used to say "It has a bunch of bugs but its an unique game! Completely different from FFXI and with potential to surpass FFXI in every single aspect!" to convince friends to come...

Luckly they didn't...i'd be ashamed in seeing them ingame after 1.18+ changes. Right now all i say is "Well...this game is like a top model...just a pretty face. Try and get something else to play for the next 12 months then ask again." or the classic "Just go back to FFXI, man..."

I just call it Harvest Moon HD, since all I (and a good portion of my ls) do is gather and craft all day
