Well according to the questions they asked back in 2012 the jobs came in this order:
Considering they already added SMN at the release, then followed with NIN, that's pet and assassin done. MCH was the long awaited musketeer and DRK also came with Heavensward.
The only one missing is Red Mage.
I know Yoshi doesn't want to implement Blue Mage because he has said a few times he didn't think it would fit well in the tank/dps/healer department and would lead to exclusion if they were missing abilities. Yoshi also said Rogue is THF so we are unlikely to see that too
I would like to see Samurai but I dread to think how the melee wait times would suffer following on from that. I would assume Dancer would be another likely addition and following that Berserker. Beastmaster would likely just end up being SMN 2.0 and since SMN is supposed to be able to glamour their pets in future that would seem even more pointless. Geomancer would be a nice addition but it would probably get shoehorned into being a healer.
If they are going to put a pure ranged DPS in like Ranger they would need to nerf it somehow just to make sure it doesn't remove all need for any melee in the game at all, what's the point in DRG/MNK/NIN when RNG can just do the same job standing away from the enemy and not having to move away to dodge close range AOE's. My only guess would be to make damage relative to distance from the enemy and make it quite a harsh penalty, even with that I would still expect RNG to still be behind the 3 melee's in DPS, just to maintain some balance.
In my Opinion:
Next job Red Mage. Depending on what they do with this will decide Samurai's fate. They could make them Tanks (FFXI RDM's were brutal with fastcast phalanx and stoneskin and spikes) Lots of enfeebles to lower enemies attack, defensive cooldowns, magic shields, or you could make them DPS and make their EN-weapon spells do different things etc.. I would assume following RDM would be Samurai, if RDM is a tank SAM will be DPS if vice versa expect SAM to be Tank (since SAM is very popular and they will try anything to get anyone to play Tanks) Finally if they wanted to round out the 3 they would need a healer, not really my expertise but I could only guess something like a Chemist, Geomancer or Time mage, that they would have to alter to fit the job role.
The Devs also said they won't introduce so many jobs at once again so I would expect perhaps in the next expansion one at release and then one or 2 more perhaps following on at 4.1 and 4.2
