I lost my motivation, Can you help me find it?

It begins to look like they cut off yoshi-p and his team...
They are sending him from event to event (E3, gamescom and so on) - does he even have a chance to play his own game?
It looks like some PR or financial managers took over and are telling the directions (same as it was back in 1.0 with the too early release).
Most of the content feels half assed and unfinished. Just look at grand companies... or pvp and gold saucer...
The core problem is you have to exclusively play content to progress, there is no progress in MGP when not playing gold saucer content, there is no progress in PVP when not playing pvp content... The source of the problem is to calculate the 'win' (lets take fenrir as example) for someone who plays YEARS only in gold saucer, thats just insane!

I'm just surprised for an expansion they didn't add all that much compared to 2.0. I can understand "wait for patches" but I bought this Expansion expecting some form of new feature in the game to show "Hey we made this expansion and here is this new feature added to the gameplay in end-game and more will come later" I enjoyed the story and new areas of the expansion all 10/10 but before i remember yoshi-p saying "the game starts at end-game(max level)" but after reaching max in this game I wish I could go back because right now there is nothing different from 2.0.

I paid for the expansion expecting something new at 60 which makes me want to stay longer but right now it just feels like 2.x where im doing roulette, PvP for a little then log off because im that bored. People who say wait till 3.1 why? I can bet my soul it will be what we predict:

3.1 - 24 man raid, 3 new dungeons, ex primal, QoL changes, story.

People understand an expansion isn't a new game but it should bring in something new and so far it didn't bring anything new. Why wait till a patch 3 months later for a new feature when they should have had it ready for the expansion so people don't have this view of the expansion of it being 2.x. Any time I mention this to other people/friends who have been playing since 2.0 they are all bored because there isn't anything new and interesting. Now I see why during live streams they never showed anything at end-game because there wasn't anything new to show. They always went over things I already knew and everything they showed was pretty much standard for a expansion (new areas, class and cap increase).

In the end, I will call this an expansion but that is just pushing it because they added flying and new areas, other than that as others have said its just a glorified patch which we paid for. I will throw some ideas right now which could have been new:

Primal Rush - Facing primals continuously after each other after each kill before you move onto another you could get a buff or a nerf to keep things interesting this can be done once a day and the order of primals is different each time gives a decent amount of tomestones. You can choose which mode you want (Hard or Extreme mode) If you do extreme it will yield a bit more tomestones so if people dont feel confident in doing all extremes in a row they can do hard mode.

Defend new found Allagan Technology from Garleans (couldnt think of a name for it) - We get teleported to one of 3 maps and we need to defend an area from garleans and at each time interval a boss can spawn and have some form of mechanics this can be done maybe once a week due to large amount of tomestone given (because you know allagan tomestone so may find quite a bit in that area) over patches (3.1/3.2 etc) they add a new map.

Small events - Small events which happen throughout the day which people can do doesn't reward that much tomestones but there is chances of rare materials for the crafters and even PvE players to sell on the market if they are luck enough to get it.

These were just things from the top of my head some may not be good ideas but i rushed most these i'm sure they could think of something they could have included at 60 which is a bit different from 2.0 in 3.0

Edit: ok maybe more 50/50, I can name Guild wars, SWtOR, WoW to counter your three. And lvl 75 gear is not anything new it is just a different form of progression.

It was bland halfway through 2.0. When I heard about an expansion, I honestly expected a lot more. It's the same boring formula but now with flying! no, seriously, just flying.

Flying....didn't AION do that first? god that game was fun, I mean I would play it over WoW anyday, plus the armor designs are really nice.

Everquest brought quite a few through its expansions.

FFXI had fresh new activities for every expansion, many with their own brand of lvl 75 gear.

Shin Megami Tensei Online added new activities and events while it was still running.

A lot of ftp games certainly follow a model without anything new added, but we aren't exactly playing for free, are we? Its a shame, because the token system was starting to get old even before heavensward, now its gating every content, several times over.

Is this really a valuable endgame experience? Because this would make a poor TV rerun.

That's the problem with threads like these. People fail to realize that unless it's an issue in the JP community nothing will get done about it. It's still fun to rant and troll but the devs do not take threads like these seriously.

I unsubcribed. I'm sure I'll come back cause I already feel a little withdrawal but it's so easy to forget about this game. All I was doing was logging in .doing roulettes then standing afk till I felt like killing daily hunt marks for exp on a level 50 jobs. It's boring. But there is nothing else like it.
