    Actually, WoW was more like:

    Approach AH
    Type in item name
Click "Buyout" on the cheapest one
    Confirm
    Run to mailbox
Click on the mail for that particular auction
    Take the attachment
Equip the gear/use the item to do whatever. . .

Granted, with mods (which most players used) it looked more like this:

    Approach AH
    Type item name
    Shift-right-click the cheapest one
    Run to the mailbox
Click the button to take all the attachments in your mailbox
    Equip/use item

. . . which is closer to how I'd like this game to look, honestly. Remember, very few people ever actually bid on a regular basis in WoW, and very few people are actually asking for an AH with a bidding system here, either.

Never heard the saying 'Too many cooks spoil the broth'? 'Cause you can only shove so many analysts in the same cubicle, and you can only shove so many artists on the same resource set. More programmers doesn't always speed up coding, either; the moment you put more than one programmer on the same set of code elements, you don't speed things up, you slow things down as they have to keep making sure they aren't breaking each-others' work.

You really want some benefit from not doing seasonal events? Then fire the people working on them. You'd get way more back from not having to pay them and provide them with a decent working environment than you would forcing the people working on systems optimisation to keep downing tools to find something for the surplus staff to be doing.

About the only bit of game design that benefits from unlimited manpower is quality assurance, and contrary to popular belief, you can't just shove your spare artists on that and expect the same results as someone qualified for the job.

    As for the topic proper?

Yeah, no, I'm with iterating on the Market Wards.

I think this is a very good, and unique idea. this or some form of this would bring supply and demand to the forefront of the marketwards and give a good way for the crafters to really know what's in demand other then prices and constant monitoring.

Great Suggestion Perrin way to think positively!

For a person who buys and sells a lot, MW is a pain for them, that I understand...

But instead of asking for an AH, I prefer for them to enhance not only search feature, but make it easy for the seller to sell things, instead of visiting the retainer and transfer and then set bazaar. That should be simplified a whole lot more.

It should be as easy as :-
    -Engage retainer
    -Set item price
    -Leave!

This whole 'transfer / exchange' item is lagging badly and slowing things down a lot, and lacking of a proper storage caused my retainer to be overburdened with all the crap I do not use.... And selling them without being able to survey the pricing efficiently beforehand is also a problem. This led me to believe, ppl are storing their crap because it's a chore to sell them, which gives an impression MW is dead... Why ? Because I can never find the item I need in MW... Why ? Because no one sells them! Why ?? Because some retainer is holding on to the item and the owner probably forgotten about it!

Typical scenario which I think everyone come across before :-
    - Browsing through retainer and found "Heyyy I got this Marmot Pelt+3, and 99 of them!"
    - Thinking of selling them but don't know what price to set.
    - Bah, I'll leave the item with retainer and will sell it after I survey the price in entrance later.
    - Continues to do other things
    - Forget about having Marmot Pelt+3 in your retainer.
    - 2 days later, come back to Retainer and start from step 1 again.

List of essentials for MW :-
    - Ability to search anywhere within MW area
    - Cache previous searches so I can look back at my previous searches anywhere, anytime - I don't remember the details everytime...which ward, who's selling what and pricing etc...
    - Abolish the need to transfer items with Retainer, and give us a proper storage space.

I'm just visiting the MW from time to time to get the items I need so it's not really a problem going through the steps the OP so thoughtfully listed out once in a while to get myself equipped with latest gear...

I have to say I agree as well with some others I want the market wards, all it does need is some fixing, it does not need to be removed.

to the OP: because the market wards work, they just need some tweaks to make them easier/faster to use. I've been saying this since day 1, we don't NEED an AH.

Im not defending it, its just you seem not to know how it currently works, and though I am very against MW and seems you are, at least play the game and know how the system works in its current state, then you can bash it, rather than bash what it used to be months ago.

Well, you can get around with a unicycle. It works.

But, given the choice, I'd rather take the private jet, instead.

What I'm saying is that there's functional. And then there's a world-class market system. SE had a world-class market system when they made FFXI's AH. Everyone who's anyone in the MMO business copied it. But no one in their right mind would ever mimic FFXIV's Market Wards for their MMO.

I think it's pointless to waste time building on a bad system. They should be working on something that actually would be the envy of the MMO world, just like we know they're capable of.
