Well I agree with some of these points and don't bother with others (Looking at you crafting).

This an expansion, not a new game. It's just adding onto what we already had. There is "new" variety in jobs/skills ect.

But anyways most of the problems you listed are things that usually already happen or things that have been around before the release of HW.

I feel like gold saucer was just a nice little filler to do in the mean time as a means to take a break from the usual content of running dungeons and what not, I'm also guessing that SE is planning on releasing more content for it so just give it time.

PVP was never really something I got into but I did join in a few times with friends just to play it out and see what it was like. As for the gear restrictions honestly I don't see that being that big of a deal. Older gear ALWAYS gets changed, in one way or another for players to access it since it is now "old" content. Anyways as someone said people who usually got that gear was because they enjoyed pvp content, not the gear that came with it.

Housing has always been a problem, long before HW was released. I would like it fixed though.

I can't speak for crafting because it is not my thing.

I can agree on the retainer part but I don't understand what that has to do with motivating someone to play. I understand that having to manage your items/gear more efficiently is a bit of a task and sometimes you end up having to drop things because of space management, but I'd hardly consider this something to stop someone from playing.

Just my thoughts, maybe you just need a break or maybe you could go play another game for a while.

I agree with the crafting and housing parts in the opening post, can't say much about gold saucer or pvp since I haven't tried either of them.

    @Ayanno

Firstly, as others have pointed out, I didn't quite mean it in the negative connotation. Playful jabs and sarcasm were present, but never did I actively try to get a rise out of people or be disruptive. The conversations I posted in ran the gamut from lore discussion, to raids, to class balance, to pvp. I wrote enough words on those forums to fill a bookshelf.

Secondly, suppose I was trying to get a rise out of people, that doesn't make my observation or the point I'm trying to draw from it incorrect. If a smoker gives you a good reason not to smoke, his point isn't invalidated by his actions.

I agree with the general consensus that a break might be in order. I've touched upon and dabbled in probably close to a hundred MMORPGs over the years. F2P tiny ones like FlyFF, LaTale, Maplestory, Lunia etc, to big names like WoW, SWTOR, GW2, and now FF14. Sometimes the spark is lost over time. If anything, a long period of absence gives you a ton to catch up on.

I can see the OP's point but, honestly, that's where making your own challenges come into play. My FC and I used to do things like no-tank runs through dungeons, and now there are undersized parties that you can do just for fun. It doesn't all have to be about grinding to get to something. I don't have or want a static, so that locks me out of the EX Primals already (unless I party-find it). But I have fun leveling other characters or finding other creative venues to explore.

I'm waiting until old content gets a new breath of life from new players. I really want to take MCH back into T5-T9 and see how much easier/harder it is, and see how new players handle the fights versus the strategies that became status quo for current HW players.

People make these same threads on ever mmo forum even new games like Black Desert Online and Blade & Soul have these types of forums. Developers can't make enough content for players that are content lotust and ignore all other content besides raiding. The only choice is to make a lot of quick quest that can be completed in 90s or less or take a longer time to make content

(I'm not sure why I am getting a 1,000 character limit so here's a screen of my post instead. Will have to right-click and 'View Image' to see it I guess).

Also forgot to mention that you cannot compare PvP gear to regular gear because, as far as I know, PvP gear has pretty much always been totally irrelevant as far as stats go. Regular gear needs to becomes easier to obtain as times goes on to make it easier on new and returning players. There was absolutely no reason to do as much for the PvP sets other than: "Let's reward everyone who wanted PvP gear but didn't want to put in the effort while shafting everyone who decided they would".

For the record, outside of that one issue, I love this game and am really satisfied with everything it provides. Could it be improved upon in areas? Of course. There are a lot of things I hope to see changed/added in the future but that doesn't stop me from enjoying what's there now and having fun with my friends while doing it.

It was directed at everyone who doesn't get it. Do i or someone else have to break out the terms of service agreement for you? You bought a copy of the game? Fine. You pay a subscription fee? So do we all. Doesn't amount to a hill of beans on a corporate scale. People keep ranting about the same things on here and either none of them have had anything done about them or next to none. Does this not register with you at all? Crying loader and often doesn't mean you'll get your way, it just means you haven't gotten the fact that they either won't do anything or it's planned so far down the line they don't even bother saying anything about it. The only "sob story" here is your opening post. You don't like what your money is being spent on? Take it somewhere else like the rest of the intelligent human beings. And of course some of these things effect those to whom they apply. But either the vast majority has come to realize that what they want doesn't coincide with the development team's long term vision for the game or they got tired of their words falling on deaf ears. Yoshida himself has said there are things they just won't do and won't outwardly say no either.

You'd think after all of this time about the vertical vs. horizontal progression ranting or the whole other slew of everyday complaints that never get a response people would get the hint. Subscription payments do not entitle anyone to anything in this game excluding the use of what they provide you and that is at their sole discretion. I am not trying to be a d**k but it's time to face facts. Nearly two years of the same old, same old has yielded nothing productive yet and after the amount of time that has elapsed your chances of success are dwindling if non existent already of getting the results you desire. Your unhappiness is of your own making, not the development team's. This isn't a case of if we keep sticking to what we believe we'll get our way. Hairstyles or some other tedious subject is one thing but a lot of what I see as complaints on here would dang near require the game to be remade all over again. Why would they do that to themselves? It's creating more work than is necessary and would most likely cause more problems with other internal systems.

I am not by any stretch of the imagination saying it is bad to want things, but want things within reason. The way you present these notions to them also affects reception as well. You can't just go "PVP suck fix nao!!" or "crafting useless delete game!!" How are they suppose to take that seriously? I am fairly certain that some poor fool has to read these disasters called "requests" and either laughs or facepalms. There is a world of difference between constructive criticism and being asinine because it's "not how I would have done it!" Eventually somewhere down the line people will understand that carrying on like this without feedback from a CommRep is generally the same as a no. They just don't want to verbalize it.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

MMO problem mainly, new age MMO's got rid of most of the entry grind (not that there is none just a lot less then older mmo's). These games have always been time sinks with only so much content the devs can bring out. A single player game has years to develope and after you finish it you are done with it (for the most part speed runs reruns for fun exist). In terms of having a good content schedule SE is pretty good about it, even if the content in the end all you grind through faster than they can get more of "that" type content (whatever that may be). Nothing is wrong with taking breaks and play other games or picking up other hobbys do whats right for you.
