Flawless touch...do you mean precise touch? or flawless synthesis? I'm a bit confused.
Flawless touch...do you mean precise touch? or flawless synthesis? I'm a bit confused.
Also is there a threshold for Craftmanship that we want to stay under? It says in the rotation that if you get 11 successes with FT and your CS2's hit for more than 103 that you will finish the synth prematurely. Does this mean we want to ensure that we never go higher than 9 or 10 FT Success?
Ideally i want to eat Seafood stew for this as it wont add anymore craftsmanship and keep my stats at 718. If i were to eat Onion Soup however it would push my Craftmanship up to the 760 range. Would this cause issues? Perhaps listing the Food (seafood stew) as one of the requirements would help with this?
Thx for the clarification very interesting stuff! Can you recommend any items to test this stuff on? Someone mentioned Seafood stew but the 1stars dont have the same total progress as 2star.1.) At 725 craft you get 101 progress with CS2. So even with that much all 11 Flawless synthesis are safe to take.(to clarify, not flawless touch)
2.) Tricks of the trade is not needed to complete the rotation as it is. If you plan to use Precise touch on a good, you must have the extra 18 CP. You can take goods any time you do not have WNII or SH2 up. You can also take any goods as ToT any time you are at 9 successful flawless synths. It is not included as some people with the proper CP requirements will take innovation, others will take reclaim. Some that have an extra slot will take more. EDIT: Clarified this on the rotation on page 7
You can also use this as a base, and go based on your actual CP, which is what I usually end up doing.
3.) Now, for testing out on 1 star recipes, your progress gains for moves like PbP will be different unless you get down to the same progress prior. Moves like RS and CS2 will not. I get the same progress on both for 1 and 2 star. You do have less required progress and can essentially clip your makers/flawless actions once you get to where you would be after 9 flawless. Example
1 star are around 300 less progress, so get down to 286-246 or anywhere in between (progress remaining after 9-10 flawless synths for a 2 star) and start the next part of the rotation. This will allow it to play out exactly as it would if it was a 2 star, other then the quality gains.
For the craft threshold, the easiest way would be to not go to 11 successful flawless. You can just skip to the next part as your CZ will already be done and the only reason to do another is for a chance to get a good proc. Ideally, your first mat you should aim for 9-10. When you do the cs2 if it is 103+ then you know when you make the next material you cannot afford to go to 11 stacks. I list 725 because I know at 725 I am safe.
You can always just alter the rotation as well. Higher craft should allow you to drop a cs2 and gain an extra HT anyways, just figure out where.

Used the ideas here to make my Hidemaster's Knife (yay Pizza Slicer). Thanks for all the hard theorycrafting guys.
718 Craftsmanship, 719 control, 437 CP after seafood stew, so basically the minimum for the craft. The +10 fc buff helps a bit, but hard to say. HQ Aethersand on the final combine is a lot of quality, so suck up the expense once or twice. There is nothing to practice on except the subcombines so, trial by fire. The only specific data I have:
1: At 719 control with 10 stacks, Byregots hit for 3393 under G.S on a normal.
2: With 1 HQ Ingot, 1 NQ Ingot, 1 HQ Griffin Leather, 2x HQ Landborne Aethersand, and 3 FC III I had over 8,000 quality after 12 successful hasty touches and my byregots hardly mattered. It hit for a little over 4K at 729 base Control. Those are all the numbers/feels I have.
Yeah the file will be the first thing to craft for me as wellStill some mats to gather.
does anyone know how the bonus to progress at 3/6/9 whistle stacks works? like is it a 50% boost or more/less?
Glad my idea turned out pretty good. Thx Rath for the rotation. I made a variation of yours to make an HQ birch ring had 70% quality before BB. All thats left is to hope SE would make it easier to get mats... ><
Thanx Ranzan & Rath, I added the rotation from page 7 to the OP so it doesn't get lost. 437 CP is really the only obstacle, I tried adding ToT on a Griffin Leather, but then I needed another Steady Hand II so I lost 5 CP lol
You're not using the rotation in your OP anymore? I have a very similar rotation and would like to know which one you use.
I figured this out myself meanwhile, it adds 50% to the synthesis skills, CSII will increase progress by 170% instead of 120% , Rapid Synthesis by 300% instead of 250% and so on. Having 9 or 6 whiste stacks made no difference.
