i100 and i110 gear no longer special

My static and I farm The Vault of Glass in Destiny on hard. Thats 6 drops a week. Eventually, were lvl 30s with full raid sets, Gallajhorns, etc. Comes the expansion, surprise, vendors sell lvl 30 gear. "Why did we just spend months farming the hardest raid in the game for lvl 30 when you can buy it a month later!?" Fake 30s we called them. "Why run Crotas End then if its going to end up the same way!?" I dont play Destiny anymore because that seems to be the route theyre taking. The same route FFXIV is taking as well. So I refuse to raid with a static every week here playing RNG for the BiS loot that will be handed out on the regular months later. So I wait till the severe nerfs before getting the "cool looking" raid/pvp gear to glamour. And will do so again with the Owl set. Because life is too short strive to be the first player with the new fancy gear, peacocking in Mor Dhona/Shire. So loathe me n despise me, but you either play the game or youre being played by it.

So if you never actually worked to accomplish anything in this game's PVP what are you even doing here, it's not like your opinions have any value to them.

Actually. im Rank 42, i did quite a lot of PvP, and i have no salt over this :3 Cause it doesn't matter.. like... even a little bit.

I can't say I'm impressed either, like many I put in effort for months to get to the max rank. Now I see a bunch of players flocking at the wolves den pier, when I seen max of 3-6 people at one time for a long ass time. Some of you who are not pass rank 20 don't come in here because you have no idea how much grind it was, I think people have a right to be pissed about this. Of course we can work towards our new ranks now but damn.

Months before the expansion I started grinding PvP rank because I wanted that Bearliege set for my Marauder. It was a horrid grind because PvP queues were long, there was no daily PvP exp reward from roulette, and wolves den was so dead it was impossible to get the challenge log each week for wolves den.

For 2.5 months straight I logged in and PvP'd for 2-2.5 hours. After all that grinding, I only had rank 37 to show for it. Why? Because with only 2 hours a night to play, I could only get 1-3 frontlines in - and I wasted MANY nights trying to get wolves den queues for challenge log and then just abandoning queue after waiting 1+ hours.

I'm really sorry that ya'll feel bad about getting max rank and then feeling gypped, but I honestly feel like I earned that gear even though I'm only rank 37. If the game were actually playable as designed, I could have had double the games I played each night and been able to receive much more of the challenge logs each week and I could have made the rank. A lot of you earned rank when PvP was newer, fresher, and more populated. I spent 2.5 months doing nothing but trying to get that Bearleige glamour. Well, now I have it, and I don't feel bad at all for wearing it pre-rank 45. Even in an MMO - any single thing should be achievable when you work for it for hours every single day for 75 days.

On the bright side I guess you're way ahead of everyone else for the grind to rank 50 and you can glamour that gear to be the cool kids on the block.

Well sounds to me like you kinda got gypped too Geryth. You can rank up into 45+ quickly now at least with better queues, but a sub level 10 player who didn't put in what you did can get enough WM's for that set in a day or so. I'd have been fine with them dropping the rank requirement on existing gear 10 levels or so.

From your post it sounds like you think you're one of the players those of us at rank 45+ are unhappy about suddenly having access to the new gear but that couldn't be further from the truth. It's players who have not put in significant time or effort suddenly having access that we object to.

Haha, yeah I give them 2-3 weeks before it's back to the true pvp players and our 30+ minute queues XD

Hey guys maybe I'm missing something but when I look at the gear it still shows a pvp rank requirement in order to equip (i100 or the animal sets as I've heard them called). Is the tool tip just incorrect or can anyone wear now? Also, how do you unlock the new pvp map? I wanted to give a try yesterday but when asking around in game noone responds

The tooltips were not updated, but the restrictions are in fact lifted. My bearliege set still says it requires PvP ranks in the 40's but I can both equip it and glamour it at rank 37.
