Soo... about WHM Tetragrammaton.

Whats the point of this skill? i mean yeah sure its instant cast. but aside from that its pretty much a cure II with a potency of 700 instead of 650. which isn't really much difference like at all. Heck! even cure II is stronger since tetra can't be buffed with Divine Seal..

I feel like it should be buffed. Either the potency to 800, Or 30sec cd , Or have a side effect.

It doesn't have an MP cost. In longer fights MP management actually matters. Especially during progression.

The fact that it's instant cast already makes it better than Cure II. You can use it as an 'oh shit!' heals too...

Think about it as you now have a guaranteed Lustrate ability from the scholar.

While Scholars are tethered every 60 seconds to having the OPTION of 0-3 lustrates you are guaranteed 1 that is not bound to any other abilities (Scholar by far cannot say the same).

It is far from worthless.

-"Well, my healing partner is dead and I need to be able to heal the tank!" *Pops Swiftcast + Raise on healer, then pop Tetragrammaton on tank during GCD cooldown*
-"My tank is about 50% HP and currently has infirmity / malady! I give no craps!" *Pops Tetragrammaton*

It's a small but wondrous utility and just adds another layer of healing that a WHM can employ to suit a party and/or circumstance. While Cure II can certainly be better, why look a gift horse in the mouth when you can basically say "Here's a free slightly more powerful Cure II that casts instantly!"

Ghishlain sums it up very well. I wanted Tetra to be before level 60 so I could use it sooner -- it's one of the nicer abilities.

Even if you're on top of things -- you have a Cure II landing right as a big tankbuster hits... combine that cure II with tetra and that's 10k+ HP restored faster than the health bars can update.

Also, casting regen means no one gets a cure for 5 seconds (well, 5.5ish if you count animation delay). Among all the other things mentioned, Tetra can cover that gap any time it's up.

maybe its not the skill concept itself, maybe i was just expecting something more FLASHY lol Asylum,Assize and AeroIII animations make them loom very flashyy. this one is just Meh bleh

I would say that this applies to most job... Level 60 skills don't seem to be quite the culmination that getting our level 50 skills were; for most jobs, it's more like just one more tool in the kit than an ultimate ability. But Tetra, simple as it is, doesn't want for utility.

Tetra and Assize are, by far, by favorite new WHM abilities (though I do love the other three as well). Like everyone's said, it's free, it's instant, and it's the strongest heal in the game (with the possible exception of Benediction on a horrendous cool down or Essential Dignity which is dependent on how close to death the target is).

Use it for rescues or just to conserve some mp.
