All I could get was one story about a tank leaving after the first room, but honestly I took that as an issue of poor communication than anything else.

No, this happened all the time.

I even reported 2 people for vote kicking the PUGs (so they could leave with impunity). I was one PUG and it wasn't their first offense. I needed AV for my relic item and right at the boss pull I had the both of them say "Goodbye!" to the other DPS then they kicked him (I voted nay) and then they kicked me. Then I'm sure they did it again to whomever else they got. I know this wasn't some isolated incident. I've had Monks just drop after 1st rooms of DD. I've had tanks drop all the time after first pulls cause hey why not.

This happened to me (and I'm just one person) in 2 different dungeons about 3-4 times in the last six months.

I don't really think SE cared very much if 4 ppl entered a dungeon and pulled a giant pull and left. I think it crossed a line when people started abusing the DF system and harming the chances of players legitimately getting clears. I'm sure this is why this was changed.
