I can do 50% cutscenes, 50% gameplay. That's my limit. The last three weeks have been 90% cutscenes, 10% gameplay.
The experience is different for returning/new players than for those who've been playing all along.
If 's' = Story time, 'G' = Gameplay time
Playing all along, your experience was
sssss-GGGGG-sssss-GGGGG-sssss-GGGGG-sssss-GGGGG-sssss-GGGGG
But for returning/new players, the experience goes like this
sssss-G-sssss-G-sssss-G-sssss-G-sssss-G
The first pattern is fun. The second pattern is not.
What do you propose I do, other than grind the story? I'm asking this in all seriousness.
- Coil of Bahamut? ->>> not an option, nobody is doing that anymore
- Do dungeons that drop gear below my item level? >>> Why would anyone do that?
- Do dungeons that drop gear above my item level? >>> Not available without grinding story. Doing that.
- Grind old dungeons for poetics or whatever those things are? >>> I have not reached the point in the game where I have the incentive to obtain those. I'm not sure what they are for exactly.
- Level a different class? >>> My preference is to play endgame with the classes I have before leveling others.
You can play "endgame" content. Stop at 50, queue for the 20 existing dungeons at 50, then continue with HS once you're done with too much gameplay...

Follow MQ. Do a few HW dungeons. You literally unlock the first one at 51 and the second one at 53, that's barely a few hours. From there, do a bit of MQ, followed up by dungeons/sidequests, or unlock the aetherwinds (trust me you'll need them). You'll need to grind levels anyway or else you won't be able to continue with the MQ, and the exp from the MQ alone will NOT do. Dungeons are never, never useless, just greed everything there, change it to grand company seals in your grand company, change the seals for retainer ventures, you can do very interesting stuff with them.
MQ is always cutscenes and going from one place to another with the occasional dungeon, it's been always like this...
Your opinion is as valid as mine. In my view, quests that have you kill monsters are more interesting than quests that have you talk to the next NPC. With or without an interesting dialog.
Someone didn't play FF13.
Also you complained about this in like 2 other topic's.
I was wonderin' when you'd make your own.
Well....i dont know what to say
Nobody force you to see the cutscenes,it isnt like SE will kill you if you dont....Like the other said, you can always see the Cutscenes later in an inn.
You, sir, are the only person who has posted something helpful. Thank you!Follow MQ. Do a few HW dungeons. I did not know that there would be gameplay between the story in HW. Thank you thank you.
