Eorzea is a very tolerant society these days. This is largely because there is such a wide mix of different races living in every corner of it, so it's only going to be natural for people to fall in love regardless of their race. It's clear that Raubahn's love for the sultana Nanamo goes beyond merely respect for her position, and he even adopted a Lalafell son!acording to the lore (from 1.0 by fern whirls) a child being born from a mixed union of two races would tend to be majorly frowned as well as rare (adoption is good tho) upon and they would 9/10 follow the mothers race. in the case of half breeds they are dispised and hated and extremely rare.
It's perfectly possible for the races to interbreed though, as indicated here.Of course, the big question is whether we'll see anything as extreme as a Lalafell hybrid in-game. I have my doubts, since the design team would be working overtime to figure out that pairing, yet I can't help being very curious as to what the results would be.Can different races crossbreed?
Answer: Yes, but it is rare...and often difficult due to cultural differences, etc. which is why you don't see it often. The lore team has informed me that there will be future quests/events that touch on this and other issues, such as love and marriage.
It's been stated that all "Races of man" can have mixed children. And let's be honest having mixed races with Lalafell and any other race would be awkward as heck >.>I don't think there would be a need to make hybrids for all races. It may not even be possible for some. Hopefully not Lalas and Roes >_>
Hilda's existence proves it's possible for an elezen and hyur though. If SE decides to include other hybrid races in the future, then they could offer playable versions of those too. Hybrids seem like they could be easy to implement overall though vs completely new races
Honestly, if it's just something small like different ears, then it doesn't seem too worth it. Like.. What would a girl Miqo'te/Au Ra look like? Their near identical in height so no severe height changes and they'd look beyond awkward if they mixed and matched them with like furry ears and tail and the scales. It'd be neat to see someone try and draw it I suppose?
If Elezen + Lala, the offsprings will have 4 elf ears.
2 on the head and 2 on the neck.

For a minute there I was like "FFXIV doesn't have any half-races"
I probably was given that impression until I looked again at Hilda's ears and Alphinaud in the same scene.
Have you not seen the Miqo'te Kitten NPC? And such a Lala'te would probably have the body shape and size of a Lalafell with the Miqo'te ears, eyes, teeth, tail and skin patterns.

I dunno, no more well than a Au Ra/Lalafell hybrid (Assuming it's a girl Au Ra), either way it'd be much larger thing going with things that are super small, and I'm sure tons of features would look really bizarre on the Lalafell's weird body shape.

On a side note, I don't get why people think the Miqo'te kid is what a Lalafell/Miqo'te hybrid would look like. Like.. That's clearly just a kid Miqo'te, Lalafell have really weird pear shaped bodies and that Miqo'te kid just has a small tail (Might be in reference to the small tail option they had in 1.0) and kid like proportions, nothing too Lalafellian about it!

Highlander/Miqo'te mix would be a neat option i'd say.
Lala'qote's need to be a thing...Would fantasia instantly
