The key similarity between the two is that they are in-demand.
As long as it's in-demand, it will be valuable, and it will have a price. You may deem it ridiculous, but there are people such as OP who does value glamour gears, even if they technically do nothing.

The problem is. The Mats are not easy at all to get. Unless I don't know something... There is 1 item (x3 I believe) that cannot be crafted, or gathered normally. It takes a random drop from a random acquired item and contend with 7 other people for it. This is likely why its so expensive. Were it something else to acquire it, the price and disappointment would be much lower.

It does something for me; it makes me look darn good. With that said, I plan to get my level 50 gatherers to 60, then get my weaver from 23 to 60 so I can craft it myself. I think it's a fun goal to strive for and is going to feel that much better once I get my hands on it.

Goldsmith & Weaver required
2 Lightning Clusters
1 Fire Cluster
3 Wind Clusters
5 Wind Crystals
5 Lightning Crystals
2 Silkworm Cocoons*
1 Effervescent Water
3 Crawler Cocoons*
1 Gold Ore
1 Raw Iolite
1 Emery
3 Thavnairian Silk**
2 Dawnborne Aethersand***
5 Aurum Regis Sand*
*Obtained in Heavensward areas
**Obtained from Dragonskin Maps
***Requires at least 5/8 Aetherial Reduction
Also remember that you really don’t need the HQ version since it’s vanity gear, so it should be extremely easy to complete if you know what you’re doing (which you should if you can make it).
This actually seems like a pretty easy item to make in comparison to HQ crafter/gathering gear, and if you're really that lazy not to craft it yourself then you just need to wait until the market floods with them and the price lowers to a more agreeable 1 million.

I've seen quite a few people complain that there isn't a need for Crafters to make armor and the like since noone would use it at end game...glamour though doesn't care about that, because its for looks. Something like that is perfect to give Crafters something to work for, and make some money off of. It isn't evidence SE loves Gil Sellers, it is evidence that currently not many people are making it...probably because many of them are trying to get to 60 or are working on battle classes.

I always see these posts and it's obvious the person making them has no idea what it entails. Let me break it down for you in simple terms.
This isn't a simple case of having the right job leveled. In addition, you need several other jobs leveled alongside it, namely botanist and miner. The ingredients required to craft it need to be earned through a process called Aetherial Reduction. This involves collecting items as if they were collectables from Ephemeral nodes and reducing them down carefully to their base components, similar to desynthesis but more involved. Once done there's a chance you'll get the item needed for your craft.
The Bustier needs Dawnbourne Aethersand. It also needs Aurum Regis nuggets, which are made by goldsmiths using Aurum Regis sand.
That being said, it's BECAUSE it requires so much that it's so expensive and so coveted. Sometimes it's nice to 'sing for your supper' as it were, and have really nice items which are set aside from the crowds. If it was easily available, then it would cease to be as special because everyone would have it.
I made Spring Dresses back when they were the ARR equivalent of Thavnairian Bustiers. But good job making stupid assumptions... My ENTIRE POST stands (which you didn't quote specifically because it already covered your "argument" when I mentioned it's rare/hard to accomplish).I always see these posts and it's obvious the person making them has no idea what it entails. The bustier is selling for 50 million on my server.. 3 people bought it already (2 of them being bought by the same person) and thats only for one piece.. All the other pieces are around 35-45 million each and they are actually selling aswell...
