Thanks for clarifying, they need to come up with some balance come alexanderbuff was used when the skill registered on an enemy, so using a long animation skill like carve and spit in combination with a fast one like souleater, the effect of DA would actually count for both. and that's what SE fixed now. unfortunately they also broke dark passenger and abyssal drain during DA now, as the added effect only lasts for 1 hit. instead of all.
Can anyone confirm this? It was not mentioned in the patch notes.
It sounds absolute bonkers, I mean PLD gets free aoe blind with flash and we have to spend 2k+ mp to blind one mob?
It would effectively be the worst ability ever.
Myself and someone on the last page can confirm... and so can reddit

Please make a bug report about this.
It CAN NOT be intentional. I CAN NOT believe that.
We are the last job that neededd a nerf. We already fight a lot more to achieve same results as the other tanks with way heftier resource management.
I absolutely cannot believe this.
where are these patch notes
Sounds like a unintended side effect of the fix. I'm pretty sure Dark Passenger was meant to blind multiple enemies, otherwise why would it even be a AoE skill to begin with. Same with Abyssal Drain.
warriors are fine. paladins are fine. drks are not. Please refer to this Dark Knight changes thread to see some of the changes that most DRK's agree on.Yes it was a bug, and yes glad it was fixed.
The only thing I'm pissed about is what little DPS we gained from it is now gone, yet warrior is still stupidly overpowered. I just wish they had brought warriors back into line, but I'm guessing we're going to have to wait for an actual patch for that to happen.
wait, seriously?
whelp, guess i'm not using either of those skills until a hotfix hits...
WAR is also on top of my list of "I don't really like healing these guys" list.Yeah, the Alexander release will likely come with a slew of balancing changes. As someone who's currently leveling MCH I sure hope so anyway.
WARs are a bit OP right now, but they also have insane stancedancing and ability bloat to manage in order to be played to their edge. Maybe not much consolation, but it means that fewers WARs will be good WARs.
Squishy as all hell.
The Dark Arts issue is undoubtedly because they just decided to sic an intern on it, who decided 'herfty derf we can fix being able to DA multiple skills by making the buff drop on the first instance of damage', because he hadn't actually looked at the DRK skill set at all before making that decision.
