In my case it's that 99% of the mobs in the new areas of HW also have AoEs on top of higher HP pool, that really bothers me. I have to run around the mobs trying to avoid those AoEs on top of trying to kill them, since they take longer to kill and I end up having them in my face pounding me, kind of hard to pull that off on my BLM. Seriously? Regular mobs with AoEs everywhere? Those kind of mecanics belong to bosses, not trash mobs in the wild.

Because I seriously doubt you've done Neverreap yet if your saying that.

Go back and do Neverreap, then tell me this kind of play is fun. <3
I've done Neverreap. I liked it? I love the dungeons in this game.

That dungeon took about maybe thirty minutes, standard dungeon time? We aren't to the point of doing five minute speedruns again yet (good).

I actually like the uh..boss that chucks totems at you. I thought it was different. Personally I have no fun burning things in five seconds, that's way boring.

I wouldn't exactly say I'm "happy" with the health pools of the new mobs, but I don't have a problem with them either. The purpose of making the new enemies more "difficult" was to entice players to join parties more often in the overworld. And really, this does just that. The enemies hit hard enough and have enough health that if you've got just average gear for your level, you're taking a risk fighting even two of them without a chocobo, and three with it summoned. On the other hand, if you have even one other person in your party then most enemies literally take seconds to kill, particularly if you both have your birds summoned. I know that I for one am more cautious when it comes to doing daily hunts or quests solo, because if you slip up and grab to many enemies at once you stand a good chance of getting killed if you don't run away. Even if it is a bit tiresome at times, it's still far more interesting than walking though "high level" areas and accidentally killing everything around you with a sneeze. I know in particular I used to just throw out a couple of DoTs on everything and watch something on my laptop while they were dying, because there was no risk of even entire groups of enemies killing me. That's far from my definition of fun.....

You do realize trash is just that, trash? They save the fun stuff for the bosses. If they gave every single monster in the game boss like mechanics, we'll be fighting them much longer than 30 seconds. That and we'll see bodies upon bodies of death everywhere.

The bosses are not as bad as the monsters that take forever to kill. I honestly don't understand how you could like it, then again you might not have Carpal tunnel like me. Grinding the face of a mob isn't challenging to me, and I don't see how its challenging to you. I would rather have them be squishier and be a bigger threat.

Mechanics should not be for just bosses. If you don't add them to monsters the only thing you do to make them more challenging is either make them hit harder or make them artificially seem harder by bloating their HP pools.

I want monsters to actually be threatening, and have mechanics similar to bosses. Not be a waste of time as they are now. Honestly, its not fun burning a bee for 1 minute 30 seconds.

On my scholar, I can probably solo 10 level 59s by running around in circles and spreading dots on them. That sounds really fun and challenging right? Nope. Without mechanics they are simply not a threat at all.

Well, I don;t use a keyboard, I use a controller, so maybe that helps? IDK.
But also, with these mobs I can practice my rotation on something than just a mindless training dummy. Mobs force you to think, to move, to actually battle. If they die in two seconds then who cares? Just spam one button for ten minutes until you get to a boss. That is so boring.

But see, I've never minded trash mobs in dungeons, even the ones that do take five seconds to kill. If I wanted a pure boss rush all the time I'd do coil nonstop or trials etc.

Well, so far the majority of monsters I've fought have the "dodge these red line" attacks. I don't think you can really give trash monsters much more to think about if they're melting in 30 seconds. If I can kill something 7 levels above me in 30 seconds, they don't have too much HP, in my opinion and not really "a punching bag" at the rate they die at. "Punching bag" in my mind would be that slime boss in Copperbell NM two where it would take an i140+ level 60 WHM about 10-15 minutes to kill if you don't bomb it. Now THAT'S a punching bag.

What if they respawned, and if they died in two seconds exploded? Now you have to watch your AOEs and focus on the one spawning them. That is what I call an Interesting mechanic. Now - I've never minded trash in dungeons either, it just seems the one in the new dungeons have way too much health.

What if one mob engaged your DPS, whilst another started to summon a demon whilst the other teleported your healer away? That is an interesting mechanic.

What if one broke and disengaged then started engaging your healer forcing you to use taunts on them? That is an interesting mechanic.

What if one mezzed the first person he sees, forcing your healer to cure him.

What if one charmed the first person he sees, forcing your healer to cure him or kill the monster to break the charm.

What if one put a debuff on your tank which made healing him hurt him instead, but did little damage itself?

Everquest 2 was a fun game in its 2006-2007 days, the only game where I found that monsters were actual fun, challenging, threatening.

Entry level mobs in both Sea of Clouds and Western Highlands is a weee tiny bit too high. Other than that, it's fine.

If anything dungeon mobs need to hit harder. Less speed runs plz.

So you want every thing to be speed run tier in short.
    Yay, you never stop complaining!
Sepct that one topic you said The Vault was fun which was like yesterday, one day later, you're complaining about it...
So that negates the one positive thing you ever said. -Sigh-
