I would prefer the lala version over the reworked miqo. We already have au ra as well.

to be honest as a member of the more beast like party if you want to see me as that (for me it is actually symply less what we already have),
while i would be absolutly ok whit the link in the op i would be heavily disapointed with that for the same reason I'm disapointed whti Au'ra:
Male Au'ra: a mix of mainly Eleezen + a bit hyur and horns
female Au'ra: a mix of Miquote and a bit of midlander plus horns
Your Picture: mainly midlanders with a heavy touch of lala (especially the face) plus rabbit ears.
I would rather have them make more Options for existing races to satisfy peopl who want certain Looks that already exist partly in the established races but don't hit Goal yet for some People and make the new races differently from what we already have.
I know that won't happen for multiple reasons (like the armor Problem) but one can dream...
Lets see
we have a mammalian race, a reptilian race.
All we're missing is avian.
I don't think we'll ever see more "Animal-Like" races, or more "Beastial" races in game. The beastman tribes are the beastman tribes because they are less humanoid and more demihuman. The Hummingways strike me as a beastman tribe as much as the Sylphs. The same premise applies. You could almost argue that the Sylphs are more human-like than the Hummingways, at least in facial appearance. A more animal-like or beastlike race wouldn't fit, in my opinion.
Hummingway primal could easily be Carbuncle. :P
No Yukes.
YUKKKKEEESSS!
Nevertheless, if we do one day get Viera (and the demand for is is high enough I consider it a distinct possibility), this is likely the sort of thing we'll get: Hyur with animal bits on. The reasons for this range from popularity (SE feels, probably accurately, that fully beastial races will have only niche popularity) to practicality (redesigning equipment for new races is much easier if they're similar in structure to existing races).
We may well get Viera eventually, but they will be as different from the Viera we know as Miqo'te are from Mithra.
As for Hummingways, they could work... as LALAFELL with animal bits on. :3
How bestial do you want them though?
Because too bestial can lead to modeling problems.
While I don't think something like fur could be a issue (as long as they imply it versus rendering out an entire fur coat) but if we start making more animalistic body parts, like the legs, SE would have to make new models for every piece of equipment, unlike with the current equipment where they just pretty much need to resize them to fit.
They did actually consider more bestial races before going with the Au'Ra, even some of their Viera concept art had fur and anthropomorphic legs.
New Clavat race CONFIRMED.
Please look forward to it.![]()

Well the good thing is, the Hummingways are pretty much furry Lala with rabbit parts. Very different from human, but not so different to cause modelling problems. How bestial do you want them though?

It is the perfect solution.
