Hummingways - The best choice for the next playable race

This might be early as we got a new race just recently, but the design of the Au Ra sparked some controversy, and a sizeable group of the palyer base is already looking at possible desings for a new race.
There are many different ideas regarding what the new race should be like. Less human looking are requested by some in the west, but as far as we know, the japanese player base wants Square Enix to stick to cute races.
We obviously need a compromise, and I have found it. The Hummingways.

The Hummingways are basically a cross between Lalafell and Vieras with full body hair. They are as far from humans (hyur) as humanoids can get. And you bet they are cute.
Would they fit the lore? Well, let's ask our dear friend Nero tol Skaeva, who executed an Eorzean spy named Codename Hummingway. The answer is an obvious yes.
Hummingways also have several advantages compared to moogles.
1) They don't fly, so animations are that more easy.
2) They are fully clothed, while moogles only equip head, main hand and offhand gear.
3) Not many are allowed to see moogles.
4) Every interaction with moogles in game assumes that you are not one.
5) Moogles have a primal, which classifies them as a beast tribe. No known primals exists for Hummingways
6) Both Moogle clans hail from places on Aldernard. The Adventurer is an outsider.

It would be nice, but I doubt we'll ever get a race less humanoid than the ones we have now. If altering a piece of gear designed for a female model to fit a male is 'impossible' (which probably means too much work), imagine how SE would feel about altering every single piece of gear in the game to fit a race with completely different proportions.

Maybe far in the future, when/if FFXIV makes enough money to convince them they can afford to actually put the effort and resources into it for such a project.

Good point, but to be fair, very little is actually inhuman in Hummingways. They could use a slightly modified Lalafell skeleton, long ears would not cause a problem after qotes and au ra, and body hair does not effect gear. So basically the only thing left is the rabit like face.
That would admittedly require work on head gear that covers up a part of the face, but not the entire face. These however are limited in number, Just a few hipster scarves and glasses.

It's never too early I'm more than certain that they already have some of the dev team sectioned out for the next expansion. Or are working on it in tandem with 3.xx updates. So now's the time to vie for races or classes that you want.

On topic: I adore these things. I'm seeing so many FFIV references today...I think it's a sign to replay *sigh*. Anyway, I'd be for it. Granted they could probably create a primal for Hummingways if they were added to the game as a non-playable race.

If they want ideas for the next expansion they can always ask me. I have an idea for almost every class to have a second job like the arcanist. And yes, we have a lot of IV signs in HW. van Hydrus looks like Golbez, Alexander might stand in for the tower of Babil, and there is the thing I covered up. Sure, Hummingways could get a primal, but Moogles can't unget their primal. Granted, Moogles have two clans with naming conventions ready. Of course playable moogles would mean they aren't from outside Eorzea. Time to edit the op.

I think this version is too similar to mi'qotes. It would please one half, but further anger the other.
