Both skills cost a % if your base mana per level. As your total grows so do both spells. Ergo you can cast about the same amount of flashes as you did at fifty. The difference now is 1. Sheltron and 2. Goring blade combo both restore mana.

A bit Off topic...
I just did the level 60 job quest. Spoilers ahead.. Solk might actually be wearing our next AF gear and new Relic (Oathkeeper and yet an unkown shield)... oooo.. I'm getting so excited.
Ive been chalking it up to a lack of gear on my part...just hit 60, started doing the experts, and was getting grouped with folks with the law gear already.Am I the only one having more trouble than before to keep aggro? It can be difficult with some dps classes, I even did a dungeon with a dragoon able to take aggro from the boss, it never happened before...
The new skills are interesting and for me transform the PLD in a "one man army", still able to tank, to dps better and to heal. It's awesome when soloing (FATES for example). But I still think it lacks of new AoE aggro and defense skills...
First thing I did was buy my new sword and shield...still have some issues here and there..can't weave in GB or RA as consistently as I'd like yet...but figure once I'm fully decked out it should hopefully be about where it was back before the expansion hit.
I am almost full i170 with i180 weapon and shield. Even using some STR jewelry agro can be a bit of an issue. Especially on pulls, DPS seem to have gotten a lot of burst which while great for them the opening agro on a tank remains about the same. I don't know what it is this EXP but it seems like everyone has a competition with who can burn down there mob fastest so each dps is beating on a different mob making it 10X harder than it has to be with agro. Bosses not really a problem but yea trash mobs can be a bit of a pain at time's especially when you got double BLM spamming fire 4's while your busy running out of 300 freakin telegraph's on the ground and they just stand there nuking.
While we are on the Paladin subject. What is a good place to put your Attribute points? I have heard 2 school of thoughts, and I have been out of the game for awhile. First school of thought was to put everything in VIT to take more hits as the paladin has a lot of mitigation. The second school of thought would to put some points into strength as strength will help effect your parry or doesn't and helps you keep aggro. Thoughts?
Attribute points should be in STR. Use accessories to adjust HP for content. i150 melded are best for lvl 60 content. Full STR for anything under.
Yea full STR is best at the moment. 16K HP in i170 gear is way more than enough for any content you do so putting everything into STR is fine or split half and half works well to.
Full STR. DPS bursting just got more potent on this expac that the best way to compnsate is to sacrifice some HP for more raw damage.
Hah! So true! I feel I run around more on PLD than I do on MNK in the new dungeons XD
Apart from the obvious that it increases your weaponskill damage, thus generate more enmity per hit. It increases the amount of damage blocked or parried, not the rate, which is increased through DEX.While we are on the Paladin subject. What is a good place to put your Attribute points? But DEX point for point only increases block/parry rate by a very tiny amount thus not really worth expanding on the stat as a PLD.

This has been removed in 3.0. STR no longer affects shield or parry block strength.Hah! So true! I feel I run around more on PLD than I do on MNK in the new dungeons XD
