Now you get pushed to front of queue for a first completion, so even a dps will have fast queues for the trials. It can be done in a day easily if they are skipping cutscenes, perhaps two of time is short.
Yes, because it's not like every RPG has something that is gated behind story...oh wait.Grow up. No one is saying don't enjoy the story line. Im just saying you release three new classes but you force people to get to the endgame before being allowed to try them? I know a few people that just love this game because of the housing and crafting and have spent their 15 dollars a month since it launched, but with the new expansion came out they cant go play in it (flying mounts for gathering and such) because they have to do the full story quest. Nice reward for someone who been here from the start.
I don't know why people are crying over of this system to be honest. It changes nothing for you as SE already decided it and won't change it until at least 4.0. It makes anything better if you just suck it up or quit.
I just don't get why people would keep crying over and over and over.
I just don't get it.
We Defend this system because its a final fantasy game as others have said. Gating the content behind the story is something those that love the games have grown to love and expect.
Friends have asked me if they should pick up FFXIV now that the new expansion is out and I've said yes but wait to purchase the expansion until you've completed the main story line in 2.0 first as its probably going to take a while and there is no sense in rushing it to get to areas you are not ready for and it gives you time to find out if you enjoy the core game first. If you don't enjoy X class try another there are tons to choose from not even including the 3 in Heavensward but if you got to the point of quitting before you will quit again because you don't enjoy the core game.
And this is how you want people to play an intended story game? Just blow thru it and skip everything just so they can unlock new classes? There is no benefit to gating the new classes from the other people. Make the classes just like the other. 30 of the main tree and 15 of another. Require people to do that period. Someone tell me one benefit to forcing people to do that? Dungeons? They have to do them anyways except they will do it on the class they actually play NOT a different class, so they have to learn it all over again ways. Guys are defending things that make no sense. Its like defending the confederate flag because of long tradition of history.
Gating raid content, new hard dungeons, hardmore this, hardmode that...yeah thats normal and done in every MMO. New classes on the other hand...welp this is the first mmoRPG (btw this is a MMORPG if you forgot) that has required you to beat "the game" before allowing you to try a new class. You know why? Because its a bad business model because it turns new players away from playing the game. Just like Free to Play MMO's that lock out classes to premium members...that never goes well for them either.
Except you didn't beat the game...you beat the equivalent of Disc 1. This is Disc 2, one must go through the first disc before gaining access to the new things.Gating raid content, new hard dungeons, hardmore this, hardmode that...yeah thats normal and done in every MMO. yea, because without the NEW jobs, what would a new player be able to choose? Maybe one of the 10 other Jobs that would be NEW to them? That's just insane!Gating raid content, new hard dungeons, hardmore this, hardmode that...yeah thats normal and done in every MMO. New classes on the other hand...welp this is the first mmoRPG (btw this is a MMORPG if you forgot) that has required you to beat "the game" before allowing you to try a new class. You know why? So you asked for a reason to gate them behind the story content.
1. Lore: all three are closely tied to Ishgard from your posts its's clear you don't care as much about it as others do but SE does care and they will not budge on this.
2. Skill: players who are taking up these new jobs are already tried and tested through the main story quests and as a side benefit are providing that experience to brand new players in the older dungeons
3. Reward: For the players that have completed the 2.0 story this is part of their reward for doing so and keeps them playing probably the most important reason of the lot.
That's the problem there the new "classes" are not classes at all they are extra jobs, thus the reason you start off at lvl 30 when you unlock them second of all it is required to be on a lvl 50 to even accept the quest to unlock it. There is no sub lvl class required either. It just wasn't designed that way.
