The Tale of the Dark Knight (DRK Spoilers)

I was actually confused if Fray existed or not. Maybe it was just us going insane and the shadow talking for us when Fray talks. I mean during the 30 quest he was dead till we fainted then he was up again (People reported that we were talking to a corpse), but it's kinda implied (I think) at some points that it's just you talking.

Like at the 45 quest when Fray cusses out the merchant, the other person says "you have every right to be angry" or something along those lines? (Can't remember now, can't look back either. x.x)
During the 50 quest everyone could see it was you, besides yourself, you saw your shadow as Fray while everyone else saw it as you. Also the soldier didn't seem to even flinch when Fray's corpse fell and only looked shocked when our shadow drew his DRK relic to fight.

Who knows maybe I'm thinking too hard but that's what I got from it.
