Can we get modern english translation?

The only part of the script that can be annoying is Lominsan pirate speech. I see no real reason to spend resources on two English localizations.

I think you were one of those people and told me to read a book.
Limsa people are a headache and I've not bother to read them anymore.
They overuse words like crazy too.
"Mayhap" "Anyroad" I don't like this Middle/Old Age speak myself it had nothing to do with school
or anything else because of course, school did not teach us this. It gets annoying. I support this but I don't see

Just because the German and French teams decided to make a more direct translation doesn't mean that the English localization is wrong. You guys are just being pedantic because the English version isn't a direct translation of the "sacred language".

I dont particularly care what language the original is. But I care about the fact the english translation keeps omitting rather important bids of character building and story information.

The main reason i use english text is because its the only language the game uses that im fluent in. German would be a set back in much of the words written i would be able to properly understand. By a fair margin. If i suggest that perhaps id be relayed more of the story in german, then perhaps you should consider that an indication of just how much is omitted in the english localization.

Seems to like a case of disrespect for the original script (regardless of its authors nationality).
You know, they also call such a thing censorship, you might of heard of it.
Its precisely this kind of thing that got localization its bad name..


But weve already had this discussion in the other topic, and its quite clear that the same people will keep defending this over and over, regardless of the fact that things important to the story and character development is being omitted time and again.
I had kind of hoped theyd have stopped doing that in heavensward, but it seems in vain.

I understand whats written is something entirely different then the actual script. And unfortunately for me i dont understand japanese well enough to understand the full scope of what is omitted.
I admit I would care less if I were fluent in Japanese. (or french, or german) Since I could just ignore your ''sacred localization'' then.


Incidentally, Hraesvelgr is female, did you know? Apparently in English hes male tho. Not entirely sure how that is supposed to work.

I do agree that there's no need for two versions of one language. While there are instances of confusion because an archaic term or phrase, I see it as an opportunity to learn and expand my vocabulary. There is a lot of history that words themselves carry both in our world and as it translates in context into the game.

If I dislike something I dislike it. In no way does this old talk expand or help em in anyway nor do I care for it. Im not asking for it to be removed but an option to have a English dialect I am more accustomed to. How does This affect you in any way? Im not saying HEY SQUARE!...put a stop what you are doing and do this now. Its something I'd like to see in the game in the near future. More options to support an English language I pref that doesn't give me a headache but today the grammar is so bad/old its annoying. Their are a lot of games based on medieval/etc times that do not use this dialect to this degree most of the time its usually just 1 old guy.
I never like shakesspeare because of the dialect. Is that a problem?

Or do I need to post in this broken old language so people will read it?
