I dunno, both MCH and DRK can have things that need to be fixed, no reason to say that they shouldn't be fixed over the other.
I like it actually.
I also think Ninjas dual wield stande looks terrible in FFXIV, it looked way betger in FFXI; standing straight, legs shoulderwidth apart, arms at sides, katanas facing back, it showed confidence. FFXIV ninjas/rogues have their legs slrawled out and they're hunched over...
I've used a high hanging guard before... With enough experience it allows you to take overconfident opponents much easier, since it is not mainstream.
The most unrealistic part is holding it up there for that long.
I am green with envy.
Well FF14's NIN is inspired by NarutoI also think Ninjas dual wield stande looks terrible in FFXIV, it looked way betger in FFXI; standing straight, legs shoulderwidth apart, arms at sides, katanas facing back, it showed confidence. To answer the OP's very first question: No, I haven't seen how Drk hold their sword yet. I'm curious as heck now due to this thread, but I only got 2 hours to play before work and haven't run into a Drk yet. Will have to look for one when I get home.![]()

Just an update.
Well, I have learned that this is an actual style that is also functional. I just don't think its the right sword for it. I think it was a style for the Katana or two handed scimitars. However because your holding medieval swords with it it looks silly. It isn't in the videos we were shown though.
Honestly, I would like "Dark Stance" to change it to more of a medieval stance, offensive. That way you can keep both styles. That is my feedback for it anyways.
The style was made for swords with little to no guard, or short guards that didn't do much. So you parry with your blade instead of using the guard.
they call it a half guard it's meant as means to throw your wait into a block it's a highly aggressive defensive stance that if someone was stupid enough to attack you they would literally be thrown on their ass from the shear force being placed into the deflection. it's utilized different per culture but the objective is still the same for knights during the medieval era it was more commonly used by claymores or a Zweihänder although the Zweihänder had a bit more oomph to it since it holds a dual handle and u can hold it on both sides of the guard... now don't quote me on this it's just wat i, myself, was taught on the use of 2 handed defensive sword styles
