Can't we just be Garleans champions?
I mean seriously.. They can't be all that BAD!

Seriously, I mean our whole purpose is to unite Eorzea to stop the Ascians from plunging the world into eternal darkness. I think things would be going along a lot faster had everyone surrendered the lands to Gaius and the Empire in the first place. Yeah, the current city state leaders would probably be executedbut after recent events, like walking out of the room during a certain scene, I don't think a lot of people would object to a change of management. Plus we'd all have access to advanced Garlean tech/resources. At the very worst we'd be exactly where we are now dealing with the drama of mutiny but at least we'd have giant robots and gunswords while we do it.One of them happened to die anyways
I'm trying to find a downside but I can't.

I knew it was going to be a lala.
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo

Depends wether the genocide of all the beasttribes, which was a stated goal of the Garleans, counts as a downside or not. Personally I kind of like the Beast tribes once you get to know them.Seriously, I mean our whole purpose is to unite Eorzea to stop the Ascians from plunging the world into eternal darkness. Also depends on your views on conscription.

Incoming 'Warrior of Dank Memes'

Seeing a lot of people talking about ascians and not needing a WoD because they are enough, People have you forgotten your storyline or did you skip it because you wanted to speed clear? Only 3 Ascians can maintain their physical forms in Eorzea because they inhabit human forms one of them is dead now, the others require a host body in order to remain in our world for long. Without a body the ascians simply fade away after a few hours.

I doubt the warriors of darkness are related to the Ascians.
Counterarguments are welcome here:

That being said, I still want to be a warrior of Drunkenness
