I would truly adore to have Viera added as a race. I love their styling, their elegance, and heck I love bunnies so ever since I saw Viera I was 'in love' haha. I think it's fairly clear looking at my elezen she's a bit of a poor mans Fran.

HOWEVER.

I also like the look of female Roegadyn. And I see they would be arriving at PS3 release; long before we might potentially get Viera. So what do I do? Change to a Roe, then potentially be extremely annoyed if they add Viera, either because I wouldn't want to change again, or couldn't? Wait years to maybe be Viera? I want to work on my FFXIV comic, but at the moment I can't, as I don't even know I'll be staying as Elezen. That can't go on for years, waiting for that attachment to my character. So I have to say, If you add new playable races, please add them ALL at once. OR If you do add them in expansions let us know as soon as possible. I'd at least like to know if I'm going to be waiting years to 'find' my character :/

I like the sense of attachment and pride we have in our characters, and changing them every few years seems silly to me. A one time change, sure, but not again and again. I don't want to see my friends looking constantly different. (I also love my name and wouldn't want to play a character with a different name, so that isn't an option for me.)

ALSO. Heh.

Can we please work on the current races before we work on new ones? They're so un-established right now. We have the tiny description we get from character creation, where apparently Duskwight Elezen 'live in caves' – where the heck are these caves? What's the story behind our races? Where do the Miqo'te live? What about these Dunesfolk Lalafell who live in travelling homes? At the moment it feels like I look at most of the races and see nothing, there's no history, no sense of anything other than how they look. It's boring and again, makes it very hard to get attached or work on creative projects, other than making stuff up myself, which is what I'm doing at the moment! I hope some consideration goes into this when re-modelling the zones.

Lastly I would like to point out playing as a beast-tribe (goblin, ixal etc) would make no sense in the lore of the game. Furthermore, imagine an ixal in the gear we have, like an iron helmet. It would look totally stupid and be way too much work to alter every piece of gear to fit such a radically different shape.
