    k so going back on topic for a moment, I bought the Eternal Bond Platinum thinking I would just get it out of the way for whomever I was going to EB with....then I realized I need to get two?! one for me, trade to the other person, then buy agaiinnn for myself?

    Unfortunately that is how it works. Both EB partners have to pay for the same level package. I personally think it's a little shady, but asking $40 upfront for it would likely scare people away from purchasing the platinum level ceremony.
