A little about AKS…
More than just a Free Company, Aureus Knights traces its lineage back to a group of friends who began playing games together in 1997. Fast-forward to 2006, passing through several iterations of MMOs, and you reach the formal founding of AKS: a place where this basic core of players could always find each other, and could always count on having a guild based on the principles of Respect, Honor, Loyalty, and Friendship.

A little about AKS in FFXIV…
One of the most active guilds during 1.0, AKS carried that same momentum into 2.0. From the launch of A Realm Reborn, the Aureus Knights have been some of the most active players on the Gilgamesh server. We are recently back after a short hiatus, previously between 2014 and 2016 we were consistently in the Top 5 active Free Companies in the game (By Free Company standings), often claiming the #1 spot.

For the casual gamer…
One of the best things about AKS is that we don’t require any particular time commitment. We have a short trial period for new members, just to make sure you're happy with us and fitting in well, but we don't have specific activity or attendance requirements. If you like to play casually, we're happy to have you!

For the more hard-core gamer…
While AKS on the whole isn’t typically hard-core, we do have plenty of people tackling FFXIV’s most challenging content. We encourage members to create their own end-game groups, and we offer the means to facilitate without being micro-managers: you can recruit people, set a schedule, discuss jobs and loot, and we'll help with resources - including having a large guild with a constant pool of potential members.

I've been a member of Aureus Knights since shortly after the release of 2.0, and it has been a distinct pleasure to be part of such an active, engaging and exciting community. AKS is a large company; nonetheless, its officers and members go out of their way to encourage a fun environment that will see us well into Heavensward and all future content. From the carefully crafted welcome packages to the inquisitive tonberry, Huebert, who lives in the free company basement and dreams about becoming a famous sous chef, AKS has enough eccentricity and humor to set us apart from other free companies.

Joined AKS in Beta 3 of 2.0 and have been here ever since. It's a great little (big?) community with enough people doing various things that you'll always find something to do. I've met some great people in my time here, so much so , that we actually play other games besides FFXIV based upon those friendships. Do you like naked walks through Limsa/Ul'dah/Gridania for special events? Do you like raffles or playing living darts by jumping from the towers in Coerthas? Do you just enjoy laughing and running around an FC front yard? Then this is probably the FC for you.

I haven't been in this FC for a while compared to some other long-time players. I've only been in AKS for about 4-5 months, and in those short months, I've made this place my home. I've been in many guilds in my lifetime of MMOs, and this one takes the cake. It is the best guild I've ever been in, and the sheer amount of efforts put together by officers and members alike is simply tremendous.

I don't regret joining this FC, and probably never will, and I'm sure that if you join us, neither will you! The members reach out for each others for the simplest of runs, while some others gather for primals runs, and pony farming. If you're not too much of the adventurer kind, we have a nice house and lawn were we have our giggles and whatnot. Overall, if you're one to have adventures and giggles, then this FC, I recommend to you!

I've joined many guilds, clans and FCs in my days with MMOs. Some of them would be vocal and helpful, some of them would just do endgame and most of them would fall apart within two months.

AKS is the diamond in the rough.

It's not just about progression and being helpful, though the constant stream of Ex Clears our veteran members have been doing for the newbies in our guild is certainly nothing to sneeze at. Sometimes we just sit on the lawn and chill, admiring Gwen's creepy costume or Xyphos'... poses. All in all, I've had more fun in the short time I've been with AKS than with any other guild/clan/FC I can remember.

So, adventurers of Eorzea. Stop playing with yourself, come and play with us, instead!
