After reading through this thread I thought I'd drop my two cents.

It does indeed suck that the TC is in a pickle and people have made some great suggestions to help you out of your bind.

I would like to add, that this is a money management skill you might want to pick up. You ordered the pre-order knowing full well the cost, although not the collection date. It would have behooved you to have saved up at least that much in the event that you do and did get billed. Of course, barring any life incidents that required you to use those savings. Of course, I don't know your financial situation or you personally, but I figured I would take the time to care and share.

At least if your fiscal issues prevented you from saving that amount, it's great people have offered you possible solutions. Wish you the best. :3

Yes and no. I ordered physical CE too, but I haven't got the email.

But as someone else said a few pages ago, EU store was broken for pretty much a week, so ours may be delayed.

In saying that, we'll probably get the email on Sunday saying we'll be charged on Monday.

I pre-ordered the physical CE from the NA store on or near the first day and got the email a day or two ago. I had actually forgotten that they didn't charge immediately, but I suppose that makes sense.

Maybe you can call them and ask for them to debit your account on a different date. Not sure how well that would work. Depending on some specifics it might actually go through and overcharge your account. Wouldn't have to worry about canceling/ reordering, but the overdraft fee would probably be a big bummer.

They wont cancel your order if the payment fails they just try again later. It's almost impossible to cancel an order with them even if you can't pay for the damn game.

One more thing to look out for. If you pay with a different currency (for example here in hungary we don't have euro but I preodered the EU version) make sure your money is still worth the same. It was due to pure change that I noticed that the value of the euro increased.

People acting like it's totally cool for SE to bill people twenty-two days before the game even ships with notification mere days before they're set to bill after stating in our original pre-order emails that "You will be notified by email before we debit your account, which will occur a few days before the delivery of your pre-order." No other retailer behaves this way for pre-orders unless they explicitly state at the time of pre-order that you are paying in full at that very moment. The physical editions won't even be shipped out until the 23rd. This means that those of us that didn't care to pay more than $9.99 (the super saver shipping) will already have to wait 5-10 days to receive our items. The very least they could've done would have been to wait until the day of early access. This is just more of SE being SE (aka SE being stupid).

so as the title suggest the 1st of June SE will charge for preorders of heavensward, today i got paid like i do every Thursday and i bought the last thing i need for my pc today, then i checked my email and saw an email that was sent yesterday about the preorders that i will not be able to afford until the 4th. Am I screwed out of my preorder because of this?

They aligned my monthly fee to be the same day as pre-order. So i cancelled my sub until i get confirmation of HW purchase. I think its funny how varied some of our payment dates are.
edit: Which is supposed to be today. Ordered from SE store.
