i personally like it because it's bringing back summon nukes (you summons it attacks then leaves) i wanted summon to be like that.
i just hope they build on it giving us ifrit/garuda/titan/levi/ramuh/shiva/ravan/bis skill attacks.
In a previous LL/fanthing/I don't remember, when they were bringing up changing Tri-Disaster I could have sworn I heard them mention something about adjusting DoT durations as well. Most likely it'll just stick them all at their default length, but it would be cool if they were all started with 24 seconds or whatever when using the new spell.
Atleast summoner doesn't sacrifice his pet for more healing.
I don't know why you guys are sending us to take stake when what a summoner is; and FROM the wiki of FF in general and XIV's:
FFXIV.: Summoner is a spell casting job that specializes in the summoning of Primal-egis...
FF Series: Summoners are known for their ability to summon magical beasts to fight for the party.
Dunno what's with tearing people apart about it, you gotta understand people are upset about it. As for Ahk Morn, you summon the things head for 2 seconds and you use it's power. What they could of done was summon Bahamut [Smaller version that's not a crap egi] and let it use his skill himself, not us who has the power. I'll take your advice and embrace what we got. I'll embrace it but never touch it again until it's a real SUMMONER. None of this DoT crap.
I bet without Ahk Morn people wouldn't have this big of a hype because near every response is "BUT AHK MORN" It's a neat skill, don't get me wrong, but they said that:
Y: Leviathan, hmm... I'm not sure whether Ramuh or Leviathan will come first (laughs). I think it'll happen when the level cap is raised, so I really can't say yet.
Just my 2 cents. Bard is also another disappointment so I'ma have to get use to classes not being what I thought they would lol.
So glad AST is a huge picker upper for me.~
TLDR: I wanted more pets, they need to balance other pets out so Garuda isn't always the go to. Buffs are welcomed, but please let's Summoners summon more...summon's lol.
In due time I guess.

SE should just outright say that SMN is an Evoker (EVK?). You evoke the powers of the Primals to do your bidding, or channel what can't be summoned, even in essence, to perform devastating attacks.
I'm so glad my SMN friend is happy about these changes.
SMN's AF1 is called "Evoker's X" for a reason. ;V
Oooh yeah. Still, they might as well rename Summoner to Evoker (I'd say Conjurer, but that already exists as a healer class).
As a someone that played smn because it was something to do, the current summoner kit is bullocks and bloated with average dps potential in an all round scenarios. The changes highlighted in the live letter sounds like something that will bring smn up to par with other classes that are a pleasure to play.
I approve of renaming the job to something else until they can bring out a real summoner class. Warlock sound good?

Warlocks, no. Evoker (FFIII), yes. Keeping it Final Fantasy (and the Job name alone sounds like something the Summoners currently do). Invoke the power of Bahamut to cast Ahk Morn or something...
Honestly, I wish Dreadwyrm Trance had more of a visual effect than a few moments of Bahamut's head popping up. Like, some sort of transparent glow of Bahamut wings or a small glowy transparent Bahamut head over your character's model, making it feel like you were actually allowing Bahamut's essence to flow through you and possess you kind of. I really do feel like they need to focus more on properly balancing Egis while adding new additions to the ones we've got and new egis as well, in an attempt flesh out all aspects of Summoner. Then again we haven't seen all of the changes to the job so for all we know pets have been reworked massively.
