Maybe not with the sex differences explicitly on the same set, but as a different set altogether, that'd be fine. Both Valkyrie and Rune Fencer have great designs. There's several jobs missing from the above image.

Other than face portraits used in game, you won't really find full images for Necromancer, Lich, or Divine Knight on the internet. But there's lovely art for NPCs out there. Cressida (ironically a major character in the Necormancer story I can't find images for) has great mages gear

I noticed that Tactics ogre dragoon right away. Hopefully they put some designs that are similar to TO playable character(and enemies) outfits. Tactics ogre is such an amazing game

I LOVE the more simple styles! Not that I don't like what's in the game, but things like...Scyllia's robe *eye twitch* were a bit much...imo...it's the ugliest thing they put in the game and was instantly glamoured when I got it. It's the perfect example of too much going on, making it....ugh

Love the new gear. I hope they make some weapons in the same style. I've been trying to get the "Bow of Owls" it's one of the few practical looking bows that has a cool design to it (I'm not a fan of the over sized glowing clunky bows) . It's been harder to get then atma bow lol.

Yeah, i hated that set too. But I think the theme of that area's gear was really unorthadox and over the top, much like Scylla and Amon themselves. The gear from WoD looked significantly better IMO.

I thought Amon looked awesome as a boss...I'm just not personally a fan of his outfit on players. However, a couple of my friends LOVE parading around in his hat, and who am I to judge *shrug* Overall though, I agree, it was indeed over the top.

What that Lala is wearing looks like a strong combination of Vaan with Firion's Amano design, notably the hate. Aesthetically, I think this expansion pack is going in a much stronger direction. In 1.0 everything was unforgivingly bland, but we only ever saw that lowest levels of the gear, and it clear the intention was to keep building on the simple designs to get cooler more customizable stuff. ARR is all about the fan service. Personally (since I main a Female Highlander right now) I liked the Scylla gear because it was over the top. Sexy yet disturbing. All of that though was fan service for FFIII designs though. The many contrasting styles from very simple to lavishly gaudy add to the game.

I must say though, I hope we eventually get more Persian/Middle Eastern designs though, because that's the one common trope that's still missing.... Though I would down to see some Russian inspired garbs designed by A. Yoshida down the line.

I always prefered his designs over Nomura's designs. I love to see his influence here.

Nomura is very "Anime-centric" with his designs as all his characters look almost the same or follow some anime sterotype. He's not bad but I do prefer Akihiko Yoshida or even Yoshitaka Amano due to their relative simplicity and subtle tones.
