Ah, I didn't mean to say that this combo couldn't work, but if this make-up isn't pretty decently geared, on the pulls I'm talking about (which is the tank pulling every single group he can between where the dungeon hard gates you from progressing more), I've yet to see this combo or any combo with a melee dps clear the trash in way that would actually save time vs. doing smaller, 1-3 group pulls.

For example, pulling every group between the 1st and 2nd boss in WP HM up until you have to stop. Most of the groups I've done this with have the dps at at least i110-i115 but unless we have a BLM/BRD combo, these huge pulls end up taking longer than smaller pulls would've- not to mention I can't dps at all myself since the mobs don't die fast enough and the tank has run out of cooldowns and thus requires more attentive healing.

If you were doing Duty Finder, then that's your problem; Duty Finder.
Luck of the draw. You take what you get in that hell hole and run with it. It's sad but people in DF are Satan's spawns themselves.
And to the vets, should not be jerk hole's over lower ilvl when folks meet the min requirements.
Newer people are just going to get the same treatment the rest of us has gotten. I just report folks, for myself and newbies who get talked down to.
I'm sick of jerk's in DF.

Sadly, I've seen this type of attitude pop up way back when I started EverQuest in '01. It was just far more rare to run into the excessively rude players in those days than it is today. I've seen quite a few people go from quiet to total a**hat at the single hint of their speed run being hindered by even a minute, or if you aren't performing how they think you should if it's not a speed run. I would say try to take the super poor attitude players with a grain of salt and stick it out. You won't always get grouped with those types (unless you have absolutely horrible luck in Duty Finder).

I've found you can meet some really cool people if you're polite and socialize with enough people. I try to take time out to help newer players clear content because, hey, I've been there too at one point. Not to mention I've made a few good online friends that way also. There are also some nice LS/FCs that are willing to help people clear stuff. You just have to branch out and get to know some people. Keep your head up! I'm sure you'll meet people who won't mind helping.

Eh, I think it's less a matter of gear than it is a lot of melee DPS not knowing how to handle multiple mobs effectively. Even with lower-level gear, things should still go down relatively quickly if you spread DoTs.

Either way, I wouldn't blame the tank for that. As long as the DPS are at least decently geared for the content and not barely scraping the minimum ilvl, they should be able to handle it.

Haven't read the past seven pages, so this has no doubt already been said... but find a better FC, at my FC when we get new members we try to take time out of our day to help them with dungeons, content, answer questions etc. This one new adventurer actually made it to 50, and we pooled together and go her a bunch of i90 and i110 crafted gear, then helped her with all the new dungeons, all those bonus soldiery/poetics she used over time to upgrade accessories, and got WoD drops to replace unmateria'd stuff. Only took a couple weeks of casual gaming to get here there as a group, and lots of FC's out there are willing to put that time and effort in for newer players. Good luck!

You'll have to excuse me if I fail to believe your sentiment there.. But whether you're genuinely concerned about the experience of newcomers or you're just annoyed at the impatient d-bags in duty finder, you needn't worry about new players, they'll get better gear than WoD from just doing quests as they level up, even Zeta will be outdated by the mid 50s.

Well, I really think it depends on your job, server and FC...
New tank is certainly the hardest, following by healer. But it is faster to queue with these jobs, pros/cons...
I tried the "New player experience" last week (with a big difference: I know all the fights): I finished to level up my alt char. On the 10th of May, I was 50. Two days later, I was ilvl90. In a week, I finished the main quests (ready for 3.0), reached ilvl112 and started FcoB. I did everything in DF, except T5 (PF) and T9 (asked FC members to join).

    Proof: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...0/achievement/

Without being that fast, I don't think it would be a problem for new players if they can have help from FC members. As an example: 2 days ago, we went to T5 with 3 fresh new players (1 tank, 1 healer, 1 dps). They never tried it before, we did not want to carry them, so we let them play their roles. It took 2 hours of wipe, but they made it, and deserved it.

Need to be adapt and independent, that's all I can say.
I'm also new but not new as OP, just chill, enjoy the game and move on.
You will find your friends later who will accompany you.

Don't think OP is new, just the character. They just eventually played the new player card. :x

^^This. Most people in this thread completely missed the fact that the OP simply started another character and is complaining about people being jerks simply because they don't have the raw equipment to keep up with players who are level syncing down....

In regards to the OP, I feel your pain. I went into The Keeper of the Lake for the first time a week or so ago with a friend who was also there for the first time, (I was DPS and she was the Healer), and while thing's didn't go perfectly smooth we did get to the final boss relatively quickly. After we wiped a couple of times because we were still unfamiliar with what to do, (and the other two players weren't offering any advice), the tank started to bash us and yell at us to leave because they "clearly" needed the tomestones from doing the roulette more than we needed to run the dungeon. After a solid few minutes of arguing where the tank refused to do anything besides hate on us, the other DPS left. Luckily we were able to get a new one quickly and convinced them to agree to the vote to kick the tank. After that we got a new tank and beat the boss on our first try with the new group without anyone even dying, much less an entire wipe.

My point is that this is a situation I've been put in quite often when running a dungeon for the first time, and I practically couldn't go through the Duty Roulette at lower levels without going in as a group because there's so many high level players that are frankly just rude to new players or even anyone they perceive as being "not good enough". This makes it a lot harder for new players to even get into the game on their own, much less progress to the point where they have the equipment said high level players have. It's not impossible, but it does create a disadvantage for people who don't come into the game with friends already on the server.....
