I use 2x 460's as wel with settings all on high and only hover around 70-75c. What drivers are you using? If it's the new 280.26 ones I'd roll back to 275.33. Many other people are getting hotter temps since updating the past week.I have two 460s in SLI and if I sit in the bar at Limsa Lominsa the temp of my main GPU will go into the 90's. I will admit though that I have my settings up pretty high and my cards overclocked a fair bit.
I can play The Witcher 2 at max (minus ubersampling) and my temps often stay below 70C.
Even if three people have a 460 the temperatures may differ due to the OEMs putting different cooling systems on them. If it's really that bad you might consider replacing it.
I was actually using the drivers right before 280.26. I just installed the latest drivers and I'm about to try things out.
I'm mostly blaming my overclock. 1087mV voltage, 870MHz core, 1740MHz shader, and 2054MHz memory.
Well, that and having Nvidia 3D Vision on.
The OP has a rather old video card, so I suspect he has a thermal paste/cooler connection issue. I'd recommend replacing the paste and making sure the cooler is properly attached. Alternatively, good third party GPU coolers, such as the Arctic Accelero XTREME Plus II (they need to immediately fire the person who came up with that name), can provide huge improvements to both temperatures and noise levels.
That's quite the brew you've got going there and I'm not at all surprised it's boiling.
I'm another 460 user and I typically get 60-70C except when GPU usage gets close to 100%, at which point I can get up to ~80C. I now use a table fan to blow cool air into the open case when playing FFXIV, so I don't really go above 76C even during full load. This is still unusally hot and FFXIV does for some reason give very high temperatures.
My settings:
Voltage 975 (default)
Core 760
Shader 1520
Memory 1800
