While tank DPS is not required it helps farm groups in a variety of ways. Faster kills equals more loot per hour. Higher DPS equals less mechanics. Fights like t12 get extremely quick and easy with very high DPS. 3 Bennu make it hard to lose, same goes with three fountains.

Behemoths tanks typically parse under 200 which is well below the minimum acceptable performance, so I can understand his PF comment.

There's still the issue of accs though. I was going hybrid up until echo kicks in for FCOB. All right side i130 and full str bonus with 3 slaying 2 fending. That's about 69 str and 54 vit on the accs alone vs 90 str and 105 vit (I think?). That's like, what, 3 wd difference and half the vit? That's between 2 warriors that still wants to do some dps. There are plenty of tanks out there that either have no idea about it or doesn't want to and sticks with 30 vit bonus and full fending acc (135 vit and 0 str on right side). That's a whopping 120 str difference. I don't really follow the stat weight trends but if it's 7-8 like other melee dps, that's uhhh..like 14 weapon damage difference? Even if they somehow play the same way (oath/defiance dancing the same way), the full vit and cheap mix is just going to lose hard.

I don't see myself dropping tanking yet but I don't see myself ever being able to afford those melds (if the ratio of these kind of melds stays in HW). I don't want to just use my cheap mix as a fallback excuse for my numbers (not always anyway) even if I have a static but it does make me wonder how it's going to be like if meld level dps is expected out of every tank in PF.

You dont need i110s. T10-12 full slaying accessories is fine, if the healers are new just mix in a fending accessory or two. T13 you'll want a couple fending accessories depending again on the healers comfort level.

Experienced groups will have full slaying right side tanks.

Well it's fine now because of echo to make up for the lack of vit by going full i130 slaying ("I was going hybrid up until echo kicks in for FCOB."). Unless people were already going full i130 slaying in t13 2 months before echo kicks in, which means I missed the PSA.

I'm just wondering if full meld is going to be the 'expected' minimum standard for tanks in the future. Like "you don't have a scorp harness/haubergeon yet? pfffft! look! look at him and laugh!" standard. I mean, I'm not against 'variety' and flexibility but 30+90 str difference, which will grow bigger as we grow in ilvl seems a bit eyebrow raising to me. Especially when they're main stats.

Tanks that focus too much on DPS scare me. I've had to heal tanks that want so badly to put out big DPS numbers that they've shed all their vit, parry, and block. In order to keep them alive I have to spam heal them. Then they get angry when I pull hate.

Not to mention, that extra 50-100 tank DPS doesn't make up for missing out on healer DPS.

And this is yet another reason SE will never--and never should--release an official parser that can be seen by others.

I did a turn 4 DF way back in the day as a warrior I was farming light. And some Random DPS mid fight say Pick up your DPS Ewitt. So I basically stop do anything beside keeping just enough hate to tank and reported the person.

    Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

Only if they should be getting a commendation.

If nothing is released that 1% or less of people might "totally mess up for everyone else", then nothing will be released.

"My feelings were hurt by some randomn person, so now I'm going to stop doing anything in order to get back at him while being detrimental to the 6 other players that did nothing wrong" Grow a thicker skin or get off the internet.

Warrior is capable of putting a lot of dps while off-tanking, and that's why you generally see them wearing damage trinkets for that little "oompf" for dps.

While it is not really necessary for the tank to be pushing amazing dps anymore, it makes running stuff easier and faster. Everyone makes their own rules for their parties, and if high class-wide dps is a part of it, then that's their choice.

Usually I don't see a lot of farm parties demanding high dps from tanks/heals though.
