In the very same Producer's Letter you're referring to: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-X-(05-20-2011)
Yoshi-P: A number of plans made at the beginning of the year will soon be ripe for release. Among these are the shiny new job system (a proper system, mind you, not just renamed classes), an in-game achievement system related to Lodestone character histories, and new modes of transport to address the mobility issue. Once our current plans progress to the next stage, I believe it’ll be possible to unveil a longer-term update schedule. (We’ve been giving chocobos a lot of thought, but it’s hard to establish a timeframe before we define exactly what needs to be done.)
Also notice how chocobos were only an after-thought at that point, yet somehow they managed to be slated for 1.19 but Jobs which were at one point considered to be "ripe for release" have slipped beyond 1.20?

In any case, I wasn't referring to the summer patches, as 1.19 will be the last patch of the summer and Jobs clearly won't be included there. My concern is that they won't be in 1.20 either with 1.2x release dates questionable before the end of the year. I guess you could do some research and tell me how features that "will soon be ripe for release" in May 2011 end up slipping into 2012?

Have you bothered to read the Producer's Letter? Because from what I've already quoted Jobs clearly are NOT coming in 1.20, as that is when the class rebalancing changes are finally being implemented. Now, maybe by some stroke of luck SE will be able to release both the new Jobs alongside the revamped classes, but given the fact they've had to delay releasing class changes from 1.19 to 1.20 I'm really not holding my breath.
