The Nvidia GameWorks logo is because Nvidia helped Squenix implement HBAO+ using the GW middleware framework. HBAO+ works on AMD cards so you're welcome for the free feature even though you don't have Nvidia.

If AMD's drivers are crap and have memory leaks and crashes that's hardly Squenix's fault. The game works perfectly on Nvidia cards and always has even when it had the AMD Gaming Evolved logo on it instead of the Nvidia GameWorks logo.
AMD gaming evolved is not anything that will improve the game its basically the AMD version of Geforce experience, except its surgested settings are crowd sourced instead of Nvidia's which is manufactuer sourced ( this could have changed though i admit ).

If it had launched with Mantle then you might be on point, the only thing AMD has done for this game is have a working Crossfire/SLI whichever you want to call it before Nvidia did, but that was so long ago its not even worth mentioning. Here is a great article someone posted on reddit which would explain alot of the fuss over this.

I haven't looked at it too in depth, but it looks like an AMD cpu vs. an Intel (more specifically recent FXs vs. i5 and i7s) shaves off a pretty significant bit of score, when graphics cards are equal. That's pretty typical IMO, and it's not really anything to do with nVidia.

The only way to get a true reading on whether or not the Benchmark discriminates is to have two identical computers (all the same parts and setup) save for the GPU, make the one GPU Nvidia and the other ATI/AMD but both GPUs of equal standing, ie: Radeon R9 290X and GeForce GTX 970.
The 970 scores higher in every way. There are tons of articles comparing the 2. I only know this because I shopping for a gpu in the 300$ range.

I mean, yeah it is Squares fault if Nvidia got a hands on first and therefor pushed out better drivers for the up coming expansion and the benchmark, while AMD will be playing catch up after the fact. Though this is operating on speculation that AMD has yet to really optimise them for the coming expansion/benchmark, on the original benchmark my system got 14k, on the current benchmark I'm barely pushing near 10k(9.8k), when there are gtx 970's pushing 12-14k, and i know my R9 290x sapphire(The one with all the bells and whistles)can out perform a 970 in most games from the vast amounts of frame rate tests i've looked at, and if its not superior to it'll usually be on par at least.

So i can understand why some people with AMD cards are peeved, though i would ask them to bare in mind that things should improve as we move forward and AMD pushes out better driver support.

    Edit: My CPU is a i5 4690k @3.5ghz

This is not true, the R9 290X is largely superior and scores much higher in most games, especially the revisions like i'm using

Which beats any 970 outright in all tests, the 970 also got gimped and Nvidia lied saying it had a 4GB of onboard video RAM, when it has closer to 3/3.5GB, not saying it's a bad card its just not as power as most R9 290X's in the same price range, i looked at many articles and tests before buying my card.

I've always liked AMD and been getting their product since I started PC gaming. I'm still considering the R9 290x since AMD has been good to me. SO far there isnt a comparison where the gtx 970 wasnt slightly better

This is exactly how i feel until very recently i was on crossfire 7850 and it was amazing except for memory leak issuse which caused me to have a constant dc after rejoining the world after using duty finder. I changed to 970 and yes its only 3 not 4gb but its still a great card and still imo better at 1920x1080 than most other cards. That said the 290x will ive heard run faster on resolutions higher than 2560 resolution so if your over that size might be worth a look.

That is not a reliable source of information, as those are stock models, which no PC gamer in their right mind would ever purchase. However i have a bunch of tests from an R9 290x and gtx 970 which compare superior later models currently available and not out dated. http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/681...ew/index4.html
    Look through the various benchmarks.
