Yeah my biggest complaint, as others have said, is that the horn options are tied to the face options.
Please make these separate options.

This is just a benchmark not the real game after all so how do you know that this is how it will be when the expac is launched. For now it might be the horns are tied to the face but nobody knows if that's how it will be come June 19th. So I for one am not gonna worry about the horn face thing until then. Since this is basically just a test for PC users.
I always play male, but I'm still really annoyed with how all the female voices make them sound like they try their best to contain their feelings.
All female Au Ra laughters: "Hnng... hnng... HNNG teehee."
Then I started checking out the cheers, and after two "Hnng... Hnng...........Yah!", I quit lol.
So naive..This is just a benchmark not the real game after all so how do you know that this is how it will be when the expac is launched. They have 2 months before expansion release and they will wave their magic wand and change whole race customization.
I have seen these "I will wait to see what happens, they have enough time to change it. It is not a final state." attitudes lots of time and it never changed.![]()
They might change minor things here and there (colours, maybe alter hair appearances slightly, etc) but it's pretty much set in stone for the face/horns being linked. It's exactly like Miqo'te facial markings linked to the face type, just less prominent in comparison. This is just a benchmark not the real game after all so how do you know that this is how it will be when the expac is launched. To go through the effort of linking them then going through the effort of unlinking them would be way too much of a hassle.
I was only able to muck around for a very short time this morning before running off to work, but I def agree on some points - the horns being tied to the face/head type especially. I only poked about the male creation, though, due to time (as I have interest in making a male Au Ra alt).
- I wanted a particular face-type, but the horns are very.... covering. He has no face from a side view. His face IS horns (the back and front horn selection). I wish the horns and face types were not tied together.
- I wish there was a back-facing horn set, like the females have, without forwards grown, also (like the males have) for the the exact reason above^ Sideview of that horn set is just.... it covers the face in it's entirety. I can't imagine what that must look like in some of the cutscenes. A bunch of horn just nodding. Or unable to see any expression at all, depending on the cutscene angle.
- Agreed - Dat dance >_> It's both amusing and.... well..... I automatically said, out loud, "...Did you seriously just do that? o_o". *Laughs self on floor and promptly gets the broomstick treatment from downstairs neighbor* (last part didn't happen, but you get the jist). Oh well, it's certainly... different.
- All the eyes look so severe. I get to choose from Angry, angry, angry and 'haven't slept in a month' (in ref to the last facetype with the droopy eyes). I tried to get the least angular eyeshape in the eye selction, but from a distance, he still looks like he's about to rip your face off for no apparent reason. I get that's a race thing - the angularness - but "-___-" would be their only expression o_O
- Also agree on the voices, I managed to find three I liked and couldn't choose easily. Normally it's only one that 'remotely' fits what I'm looking for, when I was creating my non-Au Ra alts. Ugh.... 4 or 6 (I believe it was). I can't decide...
My only complaint on the char generator in general is the backlighting... it's hard to see the skin tones (or even the facial features) unless I look at their back for a more accurate idea of the tone. I know it's always been like that, but it still bugged me xD;

At the FATE this weekend in Japan, Yoshi-P stated the Character Creation that came with the Benchmark would be the full release one "because they finished it up in time for the FATE."
I really hope we get at least some kind of official response addressing these issues. Screw the horns being tied with faces, it was a horrible idea.
I'm actually fine with their horns being limited. I wouldn't be against further customization, though. I'm pretty happy with the female I created. Although I noticed the female voices were pretty terrible too, lol.
Wish the expansion was sooner now...
As cool as the limbal ring option is, I feel if only a finite amount of selections were possible (as seems to be the case), it would have been better to let us choose the type and/or size of the horns instead.
Females:
They have some cute hairstyles, but IMHO too many of them (8/10 new Au Ra styles) have full bangs. >.<
Males:
The long ponytail they get is ten kinds of awesome and I want it for females and for male Miqo'te (minus the horns, of course) too! Pleeeaaase? -puppy eyes-
They would benefit from slightly larger irises so as to avoid the soulless staring look that another poster mentioned earlier in the thread.
