System to Automatically Relinquish Personal Housing?

If you make an investment as big as buying a plot, I'd imagine you actually play, anyhow. I'm not sure why logging in every 30 days (for example) is such a big deal to some.

Rather than suggesting that people should have their hard-earned money vanishing into thin air if they decide to take a break from the game for a month or two, you should be asking SE for more wards. It's THEIR mess, punishing the playerbase for SE's reluctance to upgrade their servers in order to provide the amount of housing that's required to sate the demand is the wrong thing to do.

It was SE's decision to limit the amount of plots. It was SE's decision to charge a damn fortune for them. Forcing players to keep their sub up nonstop in order to not have that invested fortune evaporating would be nothing short of disgusting.

He has been. For a really long time. And neither he nor anyone else has gotten a solid answer. Go long enough without an answer, and the question is bound to change.

I find it far funnier that people still feel the need to chime in and say "no, they can't do that, it wouldn't be fair" on subjects like this, when I think it's been proven by now that the devs aren't really paying attention to this issue anymore.

Really though, if you can't afford to rebuy your house for being gone from the game for 1-2 months... You really couldn't afford the house to begin with..

It's great that you have the patience and the gumption to save up to buy the house.. More power to ya, but if you think they cost a "fortune" you're really not the targeted audience for which housing was intended to be. Consider the cost of furniture, gardening soils, and just general upkeep for constant new additions. If houses are expensive, those extras that actually breathe life into the house are astronomical.

btw, I agree unsubbed players lose everything, just delete their characters and properties,
let them restore the characters when they resub, and the house is gone with compensation, fair enough.
Moreover, since a FC will be deleted when all members are deleted, FC houses will be deleted automatically as well.
it is a perfect solution to kill all unsubbed houses for everyone suggesting to kill houses.

But for a subbed player who keeps paying every month, I think the case is completely different.
Ppl keep paying the sub should be able to decide not to logon for a while for any reasons,
this is the solution for ppl who having RL issues and cannot logon.

Please implement this. Even if it was a long time (60 or 90 days) it would help fix some of the housing issues on Balmung.

There's so many plots from defunct Free Companies that nobody logs into anymore and so many Free Companies that cannot buy an FC house at all.
